To ask how you knew you were done having kids?

Just had our last DC 2 weeks ago.
We decided she is to be our last baby.

Have real mixed feelings over this, despite the logical part of me knowing it's the right thing!

For those of you done having kids, how did you know that was it for you? Or is there always that sadness when you have no more?

DH always wanted two, we currently have DD (2.5). I know we are done and my husband has reconciled himself to this because I feel sick and panicky at the thought of doing it again. (24 hours a day sickness during pregnancy and PND made the experience rather difficult).

I was offered to be sterilised during the delivery of my 3rd (all c-sections) and I said no.

When they offered it again for the delivery of my fourth, I jumped at the opportunity.

I just wasn't ready before, but I was with the last one! (He is two now and I have never ever regretted it!)

Not there yet.... But I knew I wasn't done after I had dc2 and other parents with a second baby told me how they knew two was 'it' and 'never again' and how relieved/complete they felt. I didn't feel that way at all but am hoping a no 3 will sort that out.... I think it will, can cope with one more year of no sleep but pretty sure that will be the limit
