To be devastated my wedding dress is lost?

I ordered it from Debenhams in the sale, perfect size etc. I tried the same thing on in the shop and needed just that one smaller size, they had it online, last size left.

I received an email saying my parcel had been delivered to a neighbour.

She doesn't have it.

This was over two weeks ago. It was suppose to have arrived by 30/06/2017 the latest. After that date, I kept ringing for updates and they said they'd call me back etc etc (they never did), and then they said they were getting the courier to find out where it is. Courier confirmed they left it with neighbour.

So, customer services told me today that it's out of their hands. That is that. I pleaded and after a lot of pleading, they gave me Head Office email.

I emailed Head Office who sent this back to me, I have attached a picture.

AIBU to say this is really bad customer service? They don't seem to care at all.

I have gone as high as it seems I can go.

My wedding is the first Saturday of August. I have a big baby bump that looked incredibly flattering in this dress but now I have to get something else entirely last minute.

I felt beautiful in that dress Sad

She is a thief. You can prove it. Go to your local station and get the police to go round.

Sunshinegirl82 · 08/07/2017 17:26

Just a thought OP but is there a housing association or anything you can report her to? Or is it privately rented/owned? I'd definitely let all your neighbours know when you leave!

eternalopt · 08/07/2017 17:36

Definitely comment on the selling post

"I would be very interested in this. It looks just like the one I ordered for my forthcoming wedding, but that delivery went missing leaving me without a dress so I'd love to view this one to see if it's this same"
Hmm

TSSDNCOP · 08/07/2017 17:42

What an awful outcome. I think I'd have to donate the windfall £35 to charity now though.

Itsnotwhatitseems · 08/07/2017 17:59

please put a link up to the seller Op. I wont say anything (unless you want me too) but I am curious as to what sort of nasty person would do this to a pregnant lady just before her wedding day xx

frieda909 · 08/07/2017 18:04

Are you absolutely SURE that it's your neighbour selling it? Is it a possibility that it's been stolen by someone else?

kali110 · 08/07/2017 18:08

As i said, new profile page, so youvcan get all details. Say you will give cash on collection.
THat way you will get her address.
Plus you will have all your evidence.

hiimmumma · 08/07/2017 18:11

I would buy it off her.
Respond the to FB post.
Purchase the dress and collect in person.
Be worth £25 to see the look on her face.
Or can you collect and pay cash? And then tell her you're not paying as she clearly has stolen it from you.
What a dirty thief! Her life must be pretty shit if this is what she does just for and extra £25.

HSMMaCM · 08/07/2017 18:21

I would change my name and arrange to buy it and collect it too. I'd love to see them explain.

Itsnotwhatitseems · 08/07/2017 18:25

To be honest it wont be long before someone snaps it up, its a beautiful brand new wedding dress for 25 pounds OP, please act fast as it means you could still wear the dress you love x

Catsize · 08/07/2017 19:00

Definitely use the 'goodwill' money to buy it and photo/video her when you collect it then post it on here

LloydColeandhisCoconuts · 08/07/2017 19:26

Shameless placemark. Hope to see a positive outcome OP Flowers

BlueAndYou · 08/07/2017 19:31

I have the dress back!

I informed her via a hand written letter that I was informing the police, within 24 hours, unless she gave it back to me.

I got home from town and she'd left it in my gate Flowers

I would love to share how special I feel on the day with the dress on - I will post pictures after wedding Wink

Yay! So happy for you. What a scummy, low life bitch she is though. Angry

haveacupoftea · 08/07/2017 19:35

Oooh, what are you going to do about the Debenhams refund then?

AvoidingCallenetics · 08/07/2017 19:35

Excellent news!

kali110 · 08/07/2017 19:35

Yay! I would still inform all your neighbours so they can be careful who the postie leaves parcels with
Fucking scum

BlueAndYou · 08/07/2017 19:35

Loopy I'm thankful she had the heart to give it back GrinFlowers

kali110 · 08/07/2017 19:38

Nothing to do with heart, she didn't want to have the police round!
I'd be posting this EVERYWHERE.
I'd want to know if my neighbours were thieves.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 08/07/2017 19:46

Heart?

She's only doing it because she got scared. She's still a heartless cow.

EdmundCleverClogs · 08/07/2017 19:47

Vile woman, she doesn't have a heart, it's pure self-preservation. No decent person would steal a pregnant woman's bloody wedding dress to begin with!

I think the decent thing now would be to inform Debenhams and offer back the refund (not the extra though, they were still rude and unhelpful to begin with). Have you also told 101 that the matter has been resolved? Just in case they had time to chase it up?

Very glad you have your dress though, ultimately that is the result that was wanted. Have a fab wedding day!

GlitteryFluff · 08/07/2017 19:52

So pleased!

Gooseygoosey12345 · 08/07/2017 19:56

Tbh you keep the refund because Debenhams did not fulfil their side of the contract!!

ohfourfoxache · 08/07/2017 19:56

Nowt to do with heart. She just didn't want the police involved.

Loopyloppy · 08/07/2017 19:57

She didn't have much bloody heart when you were round there all pregnant, broke and upset!

You're a better person than me op. I'd be posting pictures of her thieving boat race all over the place. And giving her a good, hard kick in the minge. (Not really but I'd be imagining it.)
