WIBU to wear these boots to a wedding?

I have a wedding to go to in October. I'm planning on wearing a long sleeved dark green knitted dress that's about knee length, with black tights and boots very similar to these. The wedding is in a barn and due to the time of year will be pretty cold.
Do you think it would be okay if I wore these boots, or will I look like a prat? Confused

Er, just nope. Don't wear them. Ever. I went to a winter wedding. In a cold church, after a night of snowfall, which settled very well. Taxi driver refused to take us to the church, that's how bad the snow was. And I still wore delightful suede 3 inch heel ankle boots.

Just no.

EWWWWW no.

Hint:
Winter weddings are never cold, because the whole thing is indoors
SUMMER weddings are often freezing because over optimistic brides think that it'ld be lovely and summery if the guests spend 3 hours "enjoying the grounds" (i.e. shivering on the lawn nursing a glass of something quirky and "summery" and "original" like pimms in a bloody kilner jar) in between the ceremony and the sit-down part while she pisses off indoors to get photos taken in the turret.

But winter weddings are not an arctic expedition, You'll spend all day in doors with heating and probably comfy seats instead of sinking into a soggy lawn whilst watching your goosebumps turn purple

My friend got married in October. It was fucking roasting. I got sunburnt waiting around for the photos.

What about something like these with a nice coat? So if its warm (as I expect it might) you arent going to end up a sweaty mess as you can take some layers off.
I would however rethink the boots and knitted dress, not very weddingy.

My wedding was in October and the weather was warm and sunny. We spent large parts of it outside with most of the ladies in thin/sleeveless dresses.

Op never returned to her thread Shock

I would wear them. They're pretty! You'll look splendid. Should be very nice in combination with a green dress!

If the wedding takes place in a barn, then why the hell shouldn't one be allowed to wear barn-appropriate clothes? Confused

It is not like it is in an expensive hotel or something.

If you want to torture yourself, that's your choice, but don't force that on others.

People who want guests to wear impractical shoes should marry in places where you can walk and be comfortable in impractical shoes.

No.
Don't wear them.
Ever.

Thank you to everyone who replied - and those that suggested fleece lined tights, I had only really thought about the boots angle, so that was helpful, thank you.

Sorry I haven't replied to the thread before but after the last two weeks I've had I can't really bring myself to think about wedding boots anymore.

Vestal, it wasn't torture

Personally think they are a little excessive, October isn't always cold! I got married in October and it turned out to be the hottest day of the year that year we were very lucky, DH nearly passed out from the heat and most of the evening party decamped to the beach once the bar closed!
