To love my fantasy little house that I live in alone

I love my DP dearly and would not really change anything, but I lived alone for 7 years before we got together and I miss it!
In my mind I have my own fantasy little cottage with a little courtyard garden, I stay in my big bed with loads of decorative pillows and cushions on, drinking out of my beautiful handpainted mug.
I eat whatever I want whenever I want and never have to share it. Everything is decorated entirely to my taste and whims and I treat myself to a lovely cake which is displayed under a glass dome on the kitchen side for me to return to when I want.
Everything is clean and tidy and I have a long bath every evening.
I love my little fantasy - it helps me while away many a walk home from work. Anyone the same?

I'll have what greenrut is having please Grin

I already own mine. It's set on the side of the hill with 180 degree view overlooking the valley and out to the ocean from the back deck that runs the length of the property on a small secluded island. I have a library/reading room with a window seat looking out over the view, and even have a craft room of my own where I can work on projects. The door never gets locked when I'm on the island, as the neighbour will drop in with fresh produce from their garden, or some treat that the wife has made.

We spend all of our holidays there now, and when DS finishes high school I will move there permanently and then it will be mine, all mine.

My first oasis is a country house, with a small apple Orchard that has a hammock underneath the trees so I can relax and listen to the sound of the birds whilst basking in the sun. There's a small rose garden that has a water fountain where I have my breakfast in the morning. At the bottom of the garden a shallow stream runs. It has low banks so you can paddle in it and if you look closely you can see small fish darting in and out of the rocks. We have picnic lunches on the bank. At night time there's a log fire that you can hear crackling and big deep comfy sofas with lots of pillows. A small dog is asleep in front of the fire occasionally snoring. At night when I'm snuggled under my hotel grade luxury duvet (Blush) there is a thunder storm and torrential rain. But I'm warm and snuggled up in bed. I have a housekeeper who wakes me with the smell of frying bacon (that has no calories it) and a cup of tea magically appears by my bed every morning. I ride into town on my bike with little dog in wicker basket and solve mysteries or go ghost hunting, what ever takes my fancy. The pub is within walking distance where I know everyone and every night is Friday night. Oh and the days are always sunny and warm.

My city pad is uber modern. It has a view of the river so I can drink coffee on the balcony and watch the boats. The best deli in the world is across the street and it's only 10mins to the most amazing shops. There are superb restaurants within walking distance and street musicians play in the early evening.

My last one is a beach house in a tropical location where I live in shorts, eat giant prawns and cook lobster on the bbq. I drink cold beer and dip my feet in the sea whilst sitting on the jetty.

I basically spend my time between the 3 properties as the mood takes me Grin

My fantasy house adapts to suit my moods. Sometimes it's a hobbity cottage in the country with beams and flagstone floors. Sometimes it's an ultra modern white flat in a city or marina type place. Sometimes it's a small country estate or a cottage by the sea.
When I'm most in need of it, it tends to be the white city flat, which is surprising but there you go.

This thread is so beautiful. I think some of you should be writers, the way you put things is so evocative, I feel like i'm almost there with you

Morning all
I'm moving into my new fantasy home today that I jet off to now and again. It's a penthouse suite at the top of Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
It's a nice little bolthole when the cottage becomes a bit boring : )
I'm just packing my fantasy wardrobe in my case now- everything is so classic and elegant with a touch of fun. All my jewellery and make up is in lovely cases and boxes and I'm draped in cashmere for the plane.

I have 2 fantasy houses that I think about a lot, esp when I can't sleep. My first is a huge family house, 6 bedrooms, all en-suite, beautiful furnishings but cosy and family friendly. We have a big party barn at the back of the house which opens on to a huge garden and my teenage son's friends all love coming to ours. We often have massive Sunday lunches where everyone is laughing and happily passing plates of delicious food up and down the table and no-one has cried because they've had to shop and cook and clean beforehand. Friends stay over a lot and we sit up late drinking fabulous wine and loving life. In the morning, I single-handedly cook a stunning breakfast for everyone but the kitchen stays immaculate. I have a pantry and a laundry room. The second house is just for me and my dog, a tiny seaside cottage just a stones throw from the beach. I cook Nigel Slater style suppers for one in my quirky, yet well appointed sunny kitchen and sit and read in a comfy window seat with a view out to sea. I wander round the local village and buy beautiful handmade bits for the cottage but it never looks cluttered. My bed is huge and squishy with lots of lovely plump cushions and my sheets are always ironed. I have a huge bath tub with a view. Every evening I walk my dog on the beach then pop into my local pub for a glass of fizz and a chat, everyone knows me and loves my pup. I never watch tv channels, I hand pick box sets and dvds but mainly listen to music. I am so sad but so happy to have found this thread!!
