To think one bath/shower a day is perfectly adequate in the UK?

I can even understand twice a day especially when it is hot or after exercising.
I did think DH was a bit odd for bathing at least two times a day without fail (even in winter) but DSS showers three times a day! I think it's insanity.

So a personal question to you all - how often do you bathe/shower and AIBU?

Once in the morning and a bedtime wash.

Twice if I'm going out on an evening and getting spruced up.

However, during the hot weather a couple of weeks back, I was averaging 4-5 (cool) showers a day.

Edsheeranalbumparty · 03/07/2017 20:48

Every hour on the hour.

Same here. Anything less is just grim.

AfraidOfMyShadow · 03/07/2017 20:52

Ahickiefromkinickie interesting point about hard/soft water.

And to those saying Every hour on the hour please don't give DSS any ideas!

Never shower - I don't have one. I also have a shitty boiler so running a bath is a right performance involving setting the timer and going back in five minutes, just for a shallow bath. So, twice a week. Ish. But lots of people who shower every day just seem to dribble the water all over themselves and dab a bit of bodywash on, judging by the smell.

Judydreamsofhorses · 03/07/2017 20:55

Always in the morning before work, and wash hair then too, possibly a second shower (but no hair wash) after work if I feel sweaty, or have my period. On a Friday evening I usually have a bath, but that's a long soak with a book rather than a means of getting clean.

insancerre · 03/07/2017 20:56

Every hour on the hour 😁
And a top up shower in between

Wide0penSpace · 03/07/2017 20:56

Either a bath at night or a shower in the morning, sometimes I will shower in the morning and have another later if I've been wearing sun cream or feeling sweaty.

SnowiestMountain · 03/07/2017 20:56

Every morning without fail and then in the evening if I'm going out or have done exercise

jeaux90 · 03/07/2017 20:57

Twice a day every day.

AfraidOfMyShadow · 03/07/2017 20:57

HeirHelp Confused he is way too young for that.

HappyAxolotl · 03/07/2017 20:57

I have a shower at night and a wash at the sink in the morning. Except for when it gets really hot and I'll have a full wash in the shower morning and night and one or two very quick cool spray=downs in between.

AfraidOfMyShadow · 03/07/2017 20:58

insancerre that is just cruel.

I'm very fussy about being clean and tidy so have a shower every morning and often one in the evening if I've been out and about or doing something that's made me warm and I thought I was having lots of showers but obviously not comparing to some people on here Shock
But I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who showers daily Grin

Lonelymummyof1 · 03/07/2017 21:00

I am going to go with he is peaking at puberty ....and mis haps.

Guepe · 03/07/2017 21:00

Usually once a day, but sometimes an extra evening shower when I fancy one.

Lonelymummyof1 · 03/07/2017 21:01

He is not to young infact 12 is a pretty common time.

Owllady · 03/07/2017 21:01

Once a , twice if I'm going out in the evening

VestalVirgin · 03/07/2017 21:02

Two to three times a week is enough, unless it is very hot. One can also wash the body parts that are in, ahem, extreme need of washing separately.

I used to think that showering once day was extreme. I see the logic of people who want to shower in the mornings and then get clean before bed, too, but THREE showers a day?

Considering that I assume they also use soap and body wash and so on, that cannot be good for the skin. Confused
Would understand if a very unfortunately stinky teen boy did that, but unless you have body odour problems that's really over the top. (And if you do have such problems that you have to shower three times a day, then you should go see a doctor.)

If you shower every hour, unless you live in a very hot country or have body odour issues, I am afraid you should see a psychologist. Confused

ShakingAndShocked · 03/07/2017 21:02

Every hour on the hour.

'Same here. Anything less is just grim.'

Seriously?

OohMavis · 03/07/2017 21:03

How do you actually find the time?

Serious question. I'm happy if I get to shower once a day, there never seems enough hours in the day.

Three times?! Do they change their clothes each time? Jesus.

VestalVirgin · 03/07/2017 21:04

Seriously?

I hope not, otherwise that would be a sign of an obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Rhubarbginisnotasin · 03/07/2017 21:04

I live in a very hot climate and I've had 4 today. One when I woke up. One at the gym a few hours later. One when I got home about 4 hours later after day out doing chores. I was wet through to my undies when I got home. I then had another before bed. In cooler weather it would be 2 a day, 3 on a gym day. And 2 a day if Im in the UK. My skin is lovely.

nina2b · 03/07/2017 21:04

I would say the majority shower - or bathe - every day. Same goes for hair washing.

OohMavis · 03/07/2017 21:05

And you must have constantly wet towels. All the time. Unless you own a bajillion towels.

Lunacy!
