To think a Beko fridge might put people off a luxury holiday let

AIBU? New business for us - combination of newby and nerves. Is 4 bedrooms in Lakes. Kitting it out with excellent mattresses, luxury 500 tc Egyptian cotton bedlinen, great towels, blackout curtains, furniture from Laura Ashley etc. Rest of kitchen is nice. Had read holiday lets should give people stuff they don't have at home where possible, so twin slimline Bosch dishwashers (is a thing in the US apparently), really good stove, steam oven/microwave combo. Was going to get American style fridge/freezer but actually prefer this Beko which has fridge at top (big, well lit, water in door but no plumbing needed/no ice), then a drawer which is a flex-zone (can be fridge or freezer), then a freezer at bottom. I would like this in a holiday let as I could have more freezer or more fridge. And these massive American ones put me off I hate scrabbling at the very bottom of them for veggies. But I can't find Samsung or LG or Kenwood version of one I want, only Beko. Other half says Beko gaff. Is 750 quid, vs. about 1100 for American but for me it's not the money. So AIBU to put Beko in luxury holiday let?

Wow this is like a whole other world! Do people really notice these things?

I have been in loads of holiday lets, some posh some not so posh, and if it looks nice and modern and is clean then i'm happy!

Main thing is the beds tbh. Nice big bed with nice quality sheets.

TheNewSchmoo · 02/07/2017 21:44

I'd be more appalled by the Laura Ashley furniture tbh

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 02/07/2017 21:46

I've never noticed the brand of any appliance in a holiday let. I want it to be clean and work.

theymademejoin · 02/07/2017 21:46

I wouldn't care what brand so long as it had the features I needed and worked properly. Sounds like a great choice.

BuzzKillington · 02/07/2017 21:47

I am a complete fusspot and have a list of conditions as long as my arm, but the make of the fridge would not bother me.

SealSong · 02/07/2017 21:47

Eh? I would not care about or even notice the make of fridge.

CaoNiMartacus · 02/07/2017 21:49

Is Beko looked down on in the world of white goods? I have a Beko freezer. Never had a problem with it! Confused

Tazerface · 02/07/2017 21:50

I honestly can't imagine a situation in which I'd care about the make of a fridge in a holiday let.

I think unless you're going for £10000 a week type lets then you're massively overthinking. This is not important.

EggysMom · 02/07/2017 21:50

I wouldn't notice the make of fridge/freezer, so long as it was clean and worked. I don't like the idea of twin slimline dishwashers - twice the tablet usage, and barely capable of taking the crockery and cookware from a meal for four.

EyeHalveASpellingChequer · 02/07/2017 21:50

A fridge is a fridge!

Intransige · 02/07/2017 21:51

I notice the appliances in holiday lets, but only because we're planning an extension and I like to try out different options!

That said, we had beko appliances in a few rental places (normal not holiday) and they don't last. I'd get something more robust for a holiday let.

ThymeLord · 02/07/2017 21:51

I'd be more concerned about the Laura Ashley tbh.

Neolara · 02/07/2017 21:51

I think you should buy the Beko fridge you think is nice. And not worry about it.

Blanketdog · 02/07/2017 21:51

Make of the fridge would be way down my lit of priorities. Knives that cut things would be a first and very impressive. Cotton sheets, feather pillows, good mattress and spotless.

PinkHeart5911 · 02/07/2017 21:52

When booking a holiday I can honestly say I have never turned to dh and said "Oh dh can you possibly tell what the make of fridge is because I will not lower myself to this accommodation if it's a Beko"

PurpleCrazyHorse · 02/07/2017 21:53

I think the key to a good holiday let is cleanliness and wonderful beds.

I wouldn't be bothered by the make of fridge freezer as long as it worked and I wouldn't mess around with any settings to swap part of it from a fridge setting to a freezer setting. I don't want to be looking in a manual while on holiday. As long as the freezer's not clogged up with frost I'd only be looking to check it was cleaned like new. I would probably expect ice in a luxury let, especially a let for adults as we'll be drinking cider and things, so ice would be great.

Gorgeous bathroom, spa bath and/or hot tub are all the luxury things I'd be looking for. Good quality furnishings and beautiful outside space.

memyselfandaye · 02/07/2017 21:53

Is it because some Beko fridges caught fire?

Stickerrocks · 02/07/2017 21:53

I have no idea which brand of fridge I have in my own kitchen, let alone in a holiday let. I would probably get irritated with over-complicated appliances anyway. Who wants to have to get out an instruction manual on holiday?

Our priorities are WiFi, a nice bed, comfy sofa & chairs, pint glasses, decent size wine glasses, plenty of room in the fridge for wine & beer, a good quality large frying pan or wok and a couple of non stick baking trays. We only ever use the freezer for ice cubes. I hate holiday lets where the kitchen is cluttered up with sieves, scales, bun tins etc - I'm on holiday & don't want to have the whole domestic goddess thing rammed down my throat.

apostropheuse · 02/07/2017 21:54

I would definitely judge.Hmm

Patriciathestripper1 · 02/07/2017 21:54

What a fking snob.

Wheresmyweetabix · 02/07/2017 21:54

I'm sure it'll be a lovely holiday let if you're putting this much thought into it.

pasturesgreen · 02/07/2017 21:54

Most of what you've mentioned wouldn't even register with me, make of fridge included.

But then I'd much rather eat out when I'm on holiday

DontTouchTheMoustache · 02/07/2017 21:54

I can't even put into words how massively you are overthinking this

Polkadot1974 · 02/07/2017 21:55

I'd be more concerned about its longevity than whether guests will notice but then I'm happy if it's cleaner and tidier than home with good beds. Good beds and clean bedding win me every time

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 02/07/2017 21:56

We do luxury holiday homes as well, the brand of the appliance doesn't matter so long as it's functional and looks good.

All of our appliances are integrated anyway so its not really obvious.

We did splurge on miele washing machines, but a cheaper one would be a false economy as they are fab.
