I know exactly what It is like to have a poorly child same as hundreds more parents in the uk.
Set aside my belief that I believe that bradley has very little dignity and both him and charlie are now used as some weird sort of click bait.

The supporters I do not understand it ?

We love you, we are heart broken and we will miss you.

Now I get empathy but this is not empathy this is media posts just gone crazy to write the most heart breaking post they can.
I wish neither of these children would have to lose their life and can undetstand the parents pain just like the rest of the terminally ill children in this country.

You can feel sad that these things happen but this just seems weird and could not imagine allowing a nation of people watching my child pass away.

I mean how many of them 2 years from now will wake up on the morning of their anniversary and automatically remember them ?

I fear the CA nonsense is actually making it hard for the parents to accept it's time to let go. It's enabling them to continue deceiving themselves about his predicament. That's really wicked.

One of them would take him. They can't leave a critically ill child in an airport

I had a really mean thought that I'm happy to admit I'm a bit ashamed of and that was that I could see 'Charlie's Army, the true story' being released onto the shelves of WHS in time with the way this campaign is going. I reprimanded myself for being so mean but then I saw the air fresheners and I'm truly shocked and horrified. How? What? Who? This situation is being exploited by some (close to the campaign as well as far) jumping on the bandwagon of grief and it's sick tbh. I'm sorry if this offends. Of course I feel terribly for the parents but hate campaign against GOSH and staff just can not be right.

I'm not sure whether they can. Boris said Charlie couldn't go to Rome for legal reasons. I'd assume those legal reasons apply as much to GOSH as they do to the parents.

JonSnow I've felt the same. CA are fuelling and enabling his parent's blind belief that Charlie is not only going to survive, he's going to thrive.

His parents will not accept he is terminally ill. I wrote that on a related Facebook post and one of his parents personally messaged me to tell me I was wrong, he is not terminally ill and I know nothing.

When parents find themselves in this unimaginable situation, from what I have seen and understood to be a common coping mechanism, is to try and focus on making the most of the sadly limited time they have left with their child.

In the future, are Charlie's parents still going to be consumed with the perceived injustice?
Or, will they gain clarity in their grief, and in turn be deeply regretful that they spent Charlie's final months of life riling up hysteria on Facebook, selling phone cases with his face on, and fighting strangers on Twitter from his bedside?

TheWeeWitch Sorry when I say personally messaged I don't mean a private message, it was a public response to me. I wrote that while it was dreadfully sad, poor Charlie needs to be let to rest, he is terminally ill and has fought hard, but now it's unfair to keep him the way he is being forced to endure.
A comment appeared under mine from one of his parents, with a photograph of him with his eyes open, saying that their Son was not terminally ill, for me to look at him, and to not believe everything I read because I know nothing about them or their Son.

I'm definitely not alone in being responded to by the family though, I've seen other lengthy responses to posters who shared similar thoughts on Facebook, and shorter You make me sick responses to them on Twitter.

I'd have thought they were, given the evidence which would have been needed for all the court cases, but who knows any more?

Certainly, if this is the level of denial, it makes me wonder once again how the poor parents will react if and when GOSH remove the life support

What happened to the CA person who was in talks with someone at Birmingham Children's Hospital - apparently they were "shocked" when she emailed them the MRI report and were going to try to get him oyt of GOSH. I never saw the end of that tale on the facebook page. Did anyone else?

Puzzled I don't believe they'll physically allow a staff member to do it.

There will possibly be a need for assistance from an external agency like the Police, for staff safety reasons, in order for Charlie to be allowed to go peacefully and without incident, or risk to the people who are just trying to fulfil their obligations to their patient.

Sadly I think with the hysteria, the constant mantra of "Switching off life support is Murder!" () I think they're convinced that by allowing this to happen will be failing him. The fact they're still fighting the inevitable says as much.

Just read that poem on the previous page! Made me cringe, big time. These women are talking as if they are the mother. And also, as if Charlie has just got a broken leg! He ain't getting better. Can they not get that?

I saw a post a couple of days ago discussing Stephen Hawking.
Some of CA were saying such things as "look at what Stephen Hawking has achieved. That could be Charlie one day. Give him that chance!"
Someone tried to point out that they were comparing two totally different medical conditions but it just fell on deaf ears.

Interestingly an "admin" has turned off any more comments on separate threads on the Charlie's Army FB site.

I am very sorry for Charlie and understand why his parents fought so hard . I agree with a PP that it would be grand if the parents could use the million + they've raised to take Charlie to where they believe he will get the best treatment and leave GOSH alone. Unfortunately if Charlie dies en route, or dies after treatment in the US, some one will lay it at the door of GOSH.

I think Bradley's case (the OP connected the two) seems to be somewhat different. His parents fundraised for US treatment but accepted the fact nothing would make a difference, and apparently the remaining money raised is going to a fund to help children with his disease. On top of which he was clearly thrilled by the support he got from Sunderland FC and Jermain Defoe.

I wish both lads well.

I also had a direct PM message from one of the parents after commenting that it wasn't fair to call GOSH murderers and that they had no reason not to treat Charlie if they could but that sadly he was terminally ill.

The message said that the MRI shows no brain damage, the Drs have lied, the treatment stands a good chance of being a cute, Charlie is very responsive.
I must admit I started to think 'shit, what if they are right?' I also felt bad that my comment had upset them. I just felt calling GOSH Murderers and saying they should be closed down was too much.

Oh I've seen his parents responding to people all over fb too. Silver they're not right though are they, because the MRI thing has been explained over & over again, what would & wouldn't show up on an MRI & the fact that Charlie has brain damage at a cellular level beyond repair. But they're not interested in that part.

& yes I agree that GOSH releasing Charlie for 'treatment' won't happen, as they are doing what is right, but CA have just annoyed me so much now I just feel like they should say ok, off you fuck, if they're hell bent on causing a bloody children's hospital this much trouble! Tis the pettiness in me!

I think I've filled up the last comment in this thread now so if CA do come across this we should be safe from the madness & being called vile murderers etc I've been wondering all along if someone from there would come across this or another of these threads & bring the army across 🙈
