I've seen loads of threads on here lately with people questioning how people can be a certain dress size at a certain weight.

I'm really interested to se how much it can vary from person to person and if people who are the same weight and height could be completely different dress sizes as I suppose muscle mass is a factor too.

Anyway, I'm rambling.

I'll start it off:

Height: 5ft 4.5
Weight: 8 stone 12 lbs
Dress Size: 10

Although even when I weighed less than 8st I still couldn't squeeze into anything smaller than a size 10. I'm surprised how few dress sizes I've gone up considering how much weight I've gained.

OSETmum · 29/06/2017 21:39

Height: 5'4
Weight: 8st 6
Size: 8 (sometimes 6 but that's definitely vanity sizing!

15.8 this morning but it varies as I'm losing
Size 14 bottom, 16 top as boobs won't fit in a 14!

Now 14 top/16 bottom

PinkCosmo · 29/06/2017 21:46

I am about 5'1", 120lbs and size 8-10 on the bottom and size 8 on top.
It is hard to understand how people who weigh so much more can also be size ten. If people are a lot taller than I am, I understand that the weight is in their height but somebody will post next to say they're 5'1", 200lbs and size 10. Interesting what the poster up thread said about being able to vary a stone either way and stay the same dress size. If i lost five pounds either way I'd go up or down on my bottom half.

irregularegular · 29/06/2017 21:46

I am you OP! Minus maybe half an inch in height.

EnglebertSlaptyback · 29/06/2017 21:48

5' 3"
10st 1-5
Size 8-10 dresses
Thighs mean size 12 trousers.
I'm pretty muscular though and lift heavy weights regularly.

Ollivander84 · 29/06/2017 21:49

Pink - I'm tall and 5lbs doesn't even register in my clothes. It's about 2-3 stone for me to drop a dress size!

Frouby · 29/06/2017 21:49

5ft 5in

11st 11lbs

Anything from a size 14 to a size 18. And some 14s feel big and some 18s feel small. I am also wearing bras from a 34 to a 40 back and a f to an h cup.

Even shoes can be a 4 to a 6.

Don't get hung up on numbers on clothes. Try on what you think you are. Go up if you have to and dont feel bad. Go down if you need to but dont feel smug.

Just make sure everything bloody fits! I hate seeing boobs bursting out or too tight jeans or buttons straining. A well fitting 16 is much better than a tight 14 and looks much more flattering.

Lotsofsighing · 29/06/2017 21:50

Weight doppleganger of Sweetbitter:
Height 5'7"
Weight 10 stone 2-4lb

But definitely a 12 all over or a medium, never a 10. I have a big arse but I hate things feeling tight around my boobs and, since I'm in my 40s, the fat from my cheeks has now migrated to a very specific place around my bra strap.

Can do a 5k in 26 minutes though. Yes! This has been hard fought but now I'll never get any faster unless I starve myself as I know my legs are heavier than those running quicker. They should really strap on some thigh weights to make things fairer. Weirdly I feel more incentivised to lose weight for this reason than I do to look better which is a sign of belated maturity.
