To think Kelly Osbourne is vile

Just read this story about Kelly Osbourne ranting at Starbucks for not letting her use the toilet and how she ended up with piss in her shoe. Just as disgusting as her mother. And I don't know why she thought so much of herself that she expects to use a toilet for free, most of us mere mortals understand you normally have to make a purchase in store to use the facilities.

Is she unwell? Trying to imagine a situation I would voluntarily publicise I pissed in my shoes past the age of 3.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 26/06/2017 15:16

You say that as though it's the most horrendous suggestion ever made

It is a ridiculous suggestion. It would be abused; it would waste the time of serving staff who have to monitor and clean more often; in smaller establishments it would be unpleasant for paying customers.

Namechange2837 · 26/06/2017 15:19

I can understand refusing if groups of teenagers come in, but if someone comes in and apologises and asks nicely I really don't see the problem. Maybe it's just cos I have to do this, but if I had my own cafe / restaurant I wouldn't say no.

McT123 · 26/06/2017 15:19

Personally I think all toilets should be open & free, it's a public necessity & there are barely any council-maintained ones around. It stinks of a mean & stingey attitude of the shops to stop people using them So you would be happy for anyone to use the loos in your house?

SugarnetMum · 26/06/2017 15:27

Businesses only let customers use them because of the likes of addicts going in, messing the place with drug paraphernalia (if that's right spelling) IMO. That's the only reason there are signs around where I live anyway.

Why should she be let use the toilet for free just cause she's famous.

HemanOrSheRa · 26/06/2017 15:30

That's what I was thinking pax. Most odd Confused.

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 26/06/2017 15:31

Actually the people in Starbucks will probably get on trouble...they in fact have a policy to allow the public to use their toilets. My friend works there and actually hates this rule as a lot of local drug addicts found out and started shooting up on there

Namechange2837 · 26/06/2017 15:34

Just out of curiosity - places like Starbucks are usually pretty busy and I imagine staff preoccupied with customers. What's stopping someone just walking in and using the toilet?

Maudlinmaud · 26/06/2017 15:35

What where Starbucks thinking? Didn't they recognise her and realise this would cause a media shitpiss-storm Hmm

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 26/06/2017 15:36

By doing a kind deed you plant a seed for a later date - I would always remember that and be more inclined to take my business there than somewhere that flat our refused

Yeah right. As if businesses are relying on cheapskates who won't even part with the price of a coke or a cup of coffee to use the "free facilities"..

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 26/06/2017 15:37

What's stopping someone just walking in and using the toilet?

Basic good manners and not thinking the world owes you something?

Namechange2837 · 26/06/2017 15:38

Gosh this really has irked you hasn't it Lass?
Well as I said I would always remember a place and be more likely to return. What if someone doesn't have their purse on them? Doesn't have change? Is in a rush?

nina2b · 26/06/2017 15:38

Not at all unreasonable. She and her entire family are vile.

nina2b · 26/06/2017 15:39

Starbucks were right. They owe her zilch.

Namechange2837 · 26/06/2017 15:39

God Lass chill the fuck out. I'm not saying I would do this, I'm just wondering.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 26/06/2017 15:39

She pissed herself in the middle of the cafe? With everyone watching after her ranting? YADNBU, that is vile.

MommaGee · 26/06/2017 15:44

There was no toilet in there.so they weren't blocking her way and telling her to buy a double whitw chocolate mocha frappuchino with soya milk and an extra shot. They just presumably said "sorry, we don't have one"
How very dare they.

I do use my Starbucks on rare occasions for a loo without a drink but then I buy an awful lot of drinks there when not using the loo so it balances out. I also don't shoot up crack in there, smear my poo etc and I always flush

Namechange2837 · 26/06/2017 15:47

Thanks Momma I should have just read the article! So she actually expected to use the staff toilets?! Jesus...

SharkiraSharkira · 26/06/2017 15:49

Well I probably have a different opinion since I have a bladder condition that means I need to go very urgently at a moment's notice and I cannot hold it very long. I have just walked into restaurants/cafes in the past and used the toilet without asking because, in all seriousness, I didn't have the time and the alternative would have been wetting myself in the middle of the shop/street. It has actually happened to me before when I could not hold it and there was no toilet. Hands down the most humiliating thing that has EVER happened to me. I cried the whole way home.

I don't think the world owes me anything and I don't mean to be unreasonable but I really can't help it. The amount of times I go a day means if I bought something in every place I went to the toilet I would end up spending £20 a day! Either that or I could just never leave the house. If I can afford it and I have the time I do buy something but I can't do it everywhere unfortunately.

Didn't know about the toilet card though, will look into that. Does that mean businesses have to let you use the facilities?

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 26/06/2017 15:50

Shops don't routinely let you use the loos due to privacy for the staff and the faff it creates. Loos in most shops are in the staff only areas; Retail staff understandably don't want you in their stockrooms or near their safe or interrupting their breaks and private time. They'd also always have to have someone back there or always have some one accompany you if it's a private part of the shop - which is a waste of a body. BoH also will not be covered by the same liability insurance as FoH as it's not meant public, so letting you back there is a risk, too.
That said, it is also a judgement call. I let someone who was about to explode at both ends use ours as I was on break back there anyway and she was so ill! If you're that desperate, we'd rather clean the loo than write off stock that got in the way- but it is exceptional for all of the reasons mentioned above.

Namechange2837 · 26/06/2017 15:52

I'm the same Shakira - and when there's a cafe of people I don't really want to say "excuse me but I've got urge incontinence and need to use your facilities" when everyone might hear! Also as you mentioned, I often don't have time to always explain that. When I have to go I HAVE to go.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 26/06/2017 15:55

Anyone who thinks toilets should be open for everyone to use should try being the manager of a shop with toilets in a city centre. In my old shop the toilets were separated from the cafe and difficult to control. They spent more time closed than not due to endless syringes, blood up the walls, puss and shit up the walls, smashed mirrors, cisterns, blocked loos with nappies down them, discarded soiled underwear. Not to mention the prostiutes who thought they'd make an ideal place to make money. This was in a Woolworths shop, so full of kids.

FakePlasticTeaLeaves · 26/06/2017 15:56

What where Starbucks thinking? Didn't they recognise her and realise this would cause a media shitpiss-storm

Maudlinmaud, the shop doesn't have a public toilet, only a staff one. Letting her use it and no one else it highly unfair. She protested and pissed herself as she is an entitled attention seeker.

MommaGee · 26/06/2017 16:01

I assumed Maudinmaud was being sarcastic. I hoped so anyway. Not sure if recognize her on spot especially in a city full of famous faces

FakePlasticTeaLeaves · 26/06/2017 16:04

MommaGee Really? My sarcasm radar is way off then. But if so, I apologise.
