To fuck OFF.

Many examples recently of people appointing themselves thread curator and being rude, annoying and pointy finger ish to other posters who disagree with them.

It annoys me more than it should.

Aw Smile, you are a sweetheart. Tea and a nice big cuddle would work wonders right now.

It's been one of those days where one remembers back to the idyllic naivety when I first qualified as a teacher compared to now. I think it's a mixture of PMT coupled with a safeguarding issue I had to deal with first thing - it was unexpected and very heavy for 9.30, so set the tone for the whole day Grin

YesMadamDeputySpeaker · 27/06/2017 22:01

Sparkling I'm glad too - as long as they don't start trashing my office like they did to that poor headteacher when they had the anti-school uniform sit in Grin

SmileEachDay · 27/06/2017 22:10

Ah that's shitty Madam - I'm the DSLO, I know how you feel.

Weirdly also having giant hideous period of doom, Maybe we're all going to be in synch...

Big hugs. And tea, X

YesMadamDeputySpeaker · 27/06/2017 22:20

It's so incredibly draining Smile - especially when you've had to deal with something very serious and hard-hitting and then the next minute a parent phones you up to shout about something incredibly trivial. Today's hot topic - the old classic, favouritism Hmm

Sorry to hear about your hideous period of doom (I think we should get HPOD a well-known MN acronym!). Big hugs and tea to you too. I'm glad your lesson went well also, did you manage to slip some Foos in?

SmileEachDay · 27/06/2017 22:23

Yeah - it leaves you wanting to yell 'YOU HAVE NO IDEA YOU INANE TWAT', doesn't it?

I did! The kids really enjoyed the lesson, although I did have some queries about whether there should be quite so many actual writing 'areas' within the festival we created. We analysed Lovely Dave and listen to some of the set in the background. It was ace.

YesMadamDeputySpeaker · 27/06/2017 22:28

YES Smile. I actually found myself holding tears back at several points today, one of which was on the phone to that parent.
You know those who have multiple all-A children and then when one gets a B it's down to the teacher favouring others and I should get them sacked immediately?

Your lesson sounds absolutely ace and makes me miss being in the classroom and not the office. In fact I would have happily sat in there alongside the kids Grin

I hope none of them said a bad word against Dave though? I presume it would have been detention if they had.

SmileEachDay · 27/06/2017 22:32

Do you have a decent off loading person at school - I think safeguarding people often end up a bit at the end of the supply chain for emotional support.

Thanks. You're welcome in my class whenever you like. DBS checks allowing, OBVS Grin

One kid said 'ohhh, I'm not a massive Foos fan' but she got shouted down by me the majority.

OP posts:
YesMadamDeputySpeaker · 27/06/2017 22:42

Not really - because I'm the head I only ever get the brunt of the safeguarding stuff if it's really, really heavy shit - such as today.
I tend to offload to DH, but he's away in London till Thursday - and we had an awful fight this morning which probably contributed to my mood as well Grin

Grin at DBS checks. It's a good thing I didn't grow up with a nineties cultural influence..

Excellent policing. I'm surprised you didn't send her to detention right there and then!

JaneJeffer · 27/06/2017 22:56

Sparkling letting a 17 year old drink cider tut tut. I would never do such a thing.

Madam sorry to hear you had such a shite day Flowers

YesMadamDeputySpeaker · 27/06/2017 22:58

Thank you Jane. Have to say everyone's loveliness on this thread is helping. Now we really are a true 'clique' Grin

SmileEachDay · 27/06/2017 23:08

Excellent cider policing Jane. You may be in line for a promotion.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 28/06/2017 05:35

DS1 was having a meal with his cider, does that make a difference? AND he is 18 today! So only 24 hours early. Grin

YesMadamDeputySpeaker · 28/06/2017 08:51

Happy birthday to your son, Sparkling! Any big plans for the day?

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 28/06/2017 10:17

Hello, I've finally RTFT, may I join?

I haven't had an HPOD for 6 years. I love implants! 💜

Alright Evil we heard you the first time.

YesMadamDeputySpeaker · 28/06/2017 10:29

Reading through 39 pages of this shows some serious dedication, so hats off to you, Evil. I think you may have the patience to make a fine detective yet.

I've had shocking HPODs ever since I had my twins.

SailAwayWithMeHoney · 28/06/2017 10:48

Oops I forgot about this thread 😬

What have I missed in the last ten pages 😯

Lweji · 28/06/2017 11:22

I feel like a newbie. (or missed something on the thread)

What's HPOD?

YesMadamDeputySpeaker · 28/06/2017 14:40

What have I missed in the last ten pages

You've missed a lot.

Ed Sheeran closing Glasto
People bringing two tents; one to sleep in, one to shit in
Lots and lots of sheep
Dancing daschunds
Some Father Ted/Grange Hill nostalgia
A brilliant Listening & Speaking lesson courtesy of Smile
Some lovely emotional support when I had a work wobble last night

And now we're almost at 1,000 posts!! Shock

YesMadamDeputySpeaker · 28/06/2017 14:43

What's HPOD?

Horrific Period of Doom. Me and Smile have synced Grin

Menstrual cycle police anyone?

RaspberryBeretHoopla · 28/06/2017 15:58

Well, some of tried to police the Happy Meal toy thread but it went down in flames. All we can do is try to keep the peace.

YesMadamDeputySpeaker · 28/06/2017 16:05

The poor OP got a proper roasting. But police hats off to all those who made an effort to halt it.

SmileEachDay · 28/06/2017 16:06

Reporting for duty.
