Watching Bridgit Jones' Baby. I can't concentrate on the story line, she just looks like a different person. I thought she looked nice before this surgery.

Anna Magnani is stunning - I'd never seen her before. I like to see original/unique beauty.

The trouble is that these unrealistic standards of beauty filter down. I was watching the original version of Freaky Friday recently and was struck by how totally normal and natural the teenage girls looked. Teenage girls in films now are so groomed in comparison.

boldly, I totally agree - it makes me uncomfortable seeing so many very young women/girls all looking same-y.

The Asian 'Wide Face Surgery' is just... disconcerting

When I look at Renee I think her eyebrows are what are different. They are pale and sparse and that makes her look like she doesn't have any. Compared to before when they were dark and defined

I genuinely didnt recognise her in the film and asked dd why a different actress was playing Brigit. I was more shocked at how.old Colin Firth looks!

I don't get the eyebrows thing either. Why not do then properly? I look terrible with sparse eyebrows, as do most people. Its like she wants to look different. I don't remember thinking she was aging badly either...If anything she's made herself look older with the surgery..
