To not understand what Renee Zellweger has done?

Watching Bridgit Jones' Baby. I can't concentrate on the story line, she just looks like a different person. I thought she looked nice before this surgery.

It's her eyes, she had really hooded eyes and got this extra skin/eyelid removed. Her hooded eyes were really distinctive so she looks completely different without them, but as they get worse and heavier as you get older and hers were already very hooded I can kind of see why she did it. I bet she didn't realise how different it would make her look either.

Range I saw a pic of her the other day taken from the side with her hair up. She's obviously had cheek and lip fillers plus botox. Now, I'm not against it and if I had her money I'd have a facelift but the fillers and botox make everyone look the same.

I'm watching too. I think her face had a really harsh look to it now where it used to be more soft. Her face seems to have a constant angry sort of expression.

The hooded eyes thing makes sense foggy. I know a man who had that surgery, quite out of necessity. It does really change the face and really has changed Renee's.

She looks as though she's had some Botox but who in Hollywood hasn't? She'd probably still look like her old self if it wasn't for the eye surgery. I hope it's true that she's happy with how she looks now. Feeling uncomfortable in your skin is hard for anyone, let alone A listers who are constantly judged by the public.

I agree Foggy and I can understand why she had the surgery, however, I think that by removing the extra skin, it's made her eyes look quite squinty and in the interview I saw, they looked quite painful. I hope she is happy though as I really like her and think she seems like a very gentle and down to earth person.

It isn't just her eyes though. I saw the film at the cinema and when her face filled the whole screen- it was so obvious she's had work done on her lips, cheeks, bit between her nose and top lip is odd too.
Anyone can choose to do what they want with their face BUT you cannot expect people not to observe and comment when it looks so changed.

Of course she can choose surgery if she wants it nerr, it's just a shame that she wanted it, she looked nice before.

Her hooded eyes were her most distinctive feature, common in people of North Scandinavian heritage. I think it's from an indigenous people known as Sami.

Having seen pap pictures of her, I thought she'd look weird in the film (which is crap, btw), but was surprised that she actually looked lovely.

I just think people are damned if they do and if they don't. If she aged naturally people would moan that she's looking old, if she has surgery they moan about that. The comment saying that she's ruined is not exactly kind (I know that wasn't the OP that said it).

She looks like Sarah Jessica Parker now, I get why she did it but she looks like a totally different person...

TBF lots of male actors have work done too - Arnie, Sly, Van what his face, Micket Rouke etc....more about the stupid place they live in where this is normal.
No worse than otheir people putting plates in their lips or tattoos all over the place is it?

I saw the guy (Nesbit?) from 'Coldfeet' this evening and he looks a lot younger different to how he used to look. Tom Cruise is cringe with how much work he has had done.

Following her surgery, she's been through the LA tabloids for a while. It's sad because she was really cute beforehand. I think though, pressure from agents / doctors / directors / etc make women chase up the surgery and undergo major surgery without really knowing the post-op implications

I have always been for graceful ageing, now that I am getting on a bit it's clear to me that having work done will become completely commonplace and that it will be a wealth signifier. Women without invasive interventions will be regarded as lower class in the not so distant future. Death Becomes Her comes to mind.

To be fair, in BJB she looked more like Bridget again but a skinnier version but photos of Renee after her surgery and before the film she looked like a different person and not in the good way. It was just totally shocking!

I think she looks the same. Has anyone got photos where she looks different?

What none of these actresses seem to understand is that plastic surgery never makes them look 10 years younger. I t just makes them look peculiar.

So they go from being a beautiful looking 40-something woman...to a peculiar looking 40-something woman.

Her eyes are much closer to her eyebrows now and her eyebrows appear full of foundation.
However, if l didn't know what she looked like previously, l wouldn't think she'd had any work done. Still a very pleasant face and expression in her eyes!

I agree she looks like SJP too and I didn't enjoy watching BJ3 tonight, she seems to have lost her unique smile and sparkle. Its a shame cos I thought she was such a natural beauty before, down to earth. Now she just seems like a generic Hollywood actress.

She was pretty before and is pretty now, but she has totally lost what made her look unique and memorable - I don't get this desire to change and 'improve' ones looks.
I don't think that she looks particularly younger now, just more samey

She is successful and has the means, she can do whatever she wants to her own face.
Personally, I clearly lack that bit of the brain that is driven to go to such lengths to improve what I've been given
