Watching Bridgit Jones' Baby. I can't concentrate on the story line, she just looks like a different person. I thought she looked nice before this surgery.

Renee Zellweger has repeatedly and vehemently denied having had plastic surgery.

TSSDNCOP · 23/06/2017 23:48

Ok Bridge we all absolutely have seeing eyeballs are right there with her.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 23/06/2017 23:51

Just watching it now and both RZ and Colin Firth have aged terribly. CF ruined himself with his weight loss.

stolemyusername · 23/06/2017 23:55

What happened to 'my body, my choice', or does that only apply when men are making comments/choices in terms of women's rights to their own bodies 😏

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 24/06/2017 00:03

What exactly has she had done though? I can't work it out. She actually looks like a different person.

Mickey Rourke claims he had surgery to repair the damage caused by his boxing career (nose broken twice and various other injuries). The original surgeon fucked it up badly and he had to get further corrective surgery.

toffeeboffin · 24/06/2017 00:10

She looks like a different person.

The most shocking is Courtney Cox. What a disaster. She was so stunning and would still be now.

Beelzebop · 24/06/2017 00:13

Courtney Cox has now had her fillers removed and looks so much better!

haveacupoftea · 24/06/2017 00:19

George Clooney has had loads of surgery too, every time I see him in the Nespresso ad I can't believe what he's done to himself.

FastWomanStanding · 24/06/2017 00:27

It's interesting how changing one feature can make someone almost unrecognisable. I saw this mockup of how Angelina Jolie would look with thinner lips.

TheFatOfTheLand · 24/06/2017 00:30

That mock up of AJ made my face go like this Shock That's one hell of a difference!

FastWomanStanding · 24/06/2017 00:39

It's weird isn't it, I keep trying to see if there's other details that are different as lighting looks a bit off but still?

AbernathysFringe · 24/06/2017 00:40

Wouldn't recognise RZ now.
Steve Martin is one I was shocked by. It's made him look almost womanish.
What's odd about it is, they do it to appear younger, but all it does is make you look like you've had surgery. Not many cases where you think they look better.

I don't know why they don't just admit they've had the surgery but say it's no-one's business rather than deny it, especially when it's very obvious. Wasn't Michael Jackson another one who claimed he hadn't had surgery?! RZ is almost unrecognisable now. I read an article the other day about Nicole Kidman who credits her looks to a healthy lifestyle and vitamins. Not sure what vitamins make your entire face immobile but there you are...

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 24/06/2017 01:42

I read a debate about RZ somewhere when her face first changed, and some plastics people were saying that it was just the natural loss of facial fat that had caused the change, as she lost weight. But she was tiny, US size 2, in Chicago, and her face still looked the same then.

As you get older, facial fat does disappear, especially in the cheeks though, so maybe.

I don't know. I just found that her facial change was so dramatic, it didn't seem possible that it could be any kind of natural - it had to have had surgical intervention.

Iwasjustabouttosaythat · 24/06/2017 01:50

Why do women feel the need to have surgery? Partially because random women on the internet tear their looks apart rather than judging them on their acting ability. Stop making out like it's so sad when you're just contributing to the problem. If she hadn't had surgery everyone would be talking about how she has/hasn't taken care of herself, her weight gain and loss etc, etc. Everything but her actual skills. If you want to help stop reducing her to her looks.

TealStar · 24/06/2017 02:02

Those pics of AJ, especially the second have also been altered to make her face shorter.

I thing RZ has had almost full facial reconstruction; pretty obvious that her cheeks are thinner and her face made longer (chin implant perhaps).

As well as the eyes of course.

Check out the results here; you really can completely change your face! (if you want to Hmm)

KoalaDownUnder · 24/06/2017 02:41

Nothing in the world will convince me that AJ hasn't had plastic surgery. No ageing or weight change does that!!

KoalaDownUnder · 24/06/2017 02:42

Sorry RZ, I meant!!

1forAll74 · 24/06/2017 03:57

Its quite the norm these days, for so called celebs to have drastic face change procedure,, so to look younger, get more film parts , make more money etc. sometimes it goes horribly wrong, shame that, I always wonder though,,what these persons children and families think about all this.. Like one day,,your mum comes in looking all pretty,,and then the next,,she comes home looking all plastic. aka Katie Price !!

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 24/06/2017 08:03

Exactly, stolemyusername!

I despair of MN sometimes - whole threads devoted to doing another woman down for choosing what to do with her own fecking body! Angry Truly a nest of vipers sometimes. Misogynistic vipers.

squoosh · 24/06/2017 08:28

Meh. A number of male celebs and their surgery have been mentioned too.

TealStar · 24/06/2017 08:40

But Ahedgehog, don't you see that this pursuit of beauty is in a world gone mad? Why shouldn't we question the fact that a formerly beautiful woman has mutilated her face in order to look more conventional? Shouldn't we challenge the media and its prescriptive dictation of what is acceptable? Does every woman seriously want to look like an extra off of Love Island? As a mother of two teen girls I think we should be challenging this nonsense, rather that allowing girls and women to feel ashamed for looking unique.
