To not understand what Renee Zellweger has done?

Watching Bridgit Jones' Baby. I can't concentrate on the story line, she just looks like a different person. I thought she looked nice before this surgery.

I thought JK Rowling had just had her Bells Palsy corrected?

I got used to RZ very quickly when I was watching the film but every time I see JKR I wonder what's different about her.

like I didn't realise you could do that? I thought you just had to wait for it to go away.

I saw a picture of Madonna on Yahoo yesterday, she looks terrible. Ok, get a bit of botox or whatever if it makes you happy butnshe looked puffed up and bloated. Not a good look at all. Simon Cowell often looks puffed up as well. And it is the men too, Sylvester Stallone looks awful.

SJP!!. Yes, I thought Zelwegger reminded me of someone. Just not herself.

I watched 'Twentieth Century Women" last week, starring Annette Bening. I thought of her in the context of Zelwgger as she has hooded eyes, too and carries it well. No work that I can see which, of course makes her look old because everyone else..looks like everyone else.

Bening is lovely.

I think she still looks absolutely gorgeous but doesn't look like herself any more. I have very similar hooded eyes and they make me look sleepy. If I could afford it I'd love to get some of the hoody skin removed. My eyes feel heavy and tired somehow as well as looking that way. So I can understand her wanting her eyes done but she seems to have radically altered her entire face which seems a shame.

I don't think she's had anything done, other than lose some weight, change her hair, and wear less makeup. She's changed the shape of her eyebrows a bit. And got a bit older.

She's definitely had surgery. She's talked about it to the media.

YANBU. She is one of those women who had unusual features that combined to make her uniquely attractive. Hopefully she's happy with her new look now but its wiped all the prettiness and character from her face/features. Like a female Mickey Rourke. The media has a lot to answer for

Thing is, she doesn't look any younger. She doesn't look worse or better, just so so different. I don't think I've ever seen surgery on someone that's completely (fairly naturally) altered their face so that they're nearly unrecognisable...which is an odd decision for a well known actress to make really.

Those before & after photos are truly shocking. She just does not look like herself anymore. At all

To me, she looks like a completely different person. I find it really uncanny and disconcerting!

I have deep set hooded eyes like she used to have - in fact people used to comment that I looked like her, back in the day. Seeing what she looks like now is a useful lesson to me to not get them 'done' (even if I had the cash and wasn't squeamish!).

She always had extremely heavy hooded eyes but if you look at pictures of her not long before she had surgery you can see that her eyelid skin was actually starting to over-hang her upper lash line quite a bit when her eyes were open. That can't have been comfortable at all. Also not an easy thing to fix in a subtle way.

I preferred her 'old face' too, but I suspect she's far more comfortable now. It's not like she was acting much in the years before having the work done so I imagine the effect on her career was no longer a major concern.

She should've stuck with Jack White.

it's clear to me that having work done will become completely commonplace and that it will be a wealth signifier. Women without invasive interventions will be regarded as lower class in the not so distant future. Death Becomes Her comes to mind.

Oh that's a bit harsh. She's still an attractive woman whereas Mickey Rourke is in a bad plastic surgery league of his own.

We started watching BJB but I had to turn it off.....they all looked so old and haggard that it was far too unbelievable that she was having a baby. I adored the 1st film it was cheesy but lovely, the 2nd went too far.....this one is an abomination. She was a very beautiful woman once, and would have aged far more gracefully leaving nature alone than by the surgery road she's taken.

It's fascinating how changing one distinctive feature can make you unrecognisable. Remember Jennifer Grey from Dirty Dancing and her nose job?!

Do people really moan and complain if celebs look old? Or anyone looks old? Is just part of life surely, it's not their fault. I might watch task master and think, Oh Sue's looking older now, but that's because she's older, I'm not cross with her!

RZ was so dinstinctively pretty, her eyes were unusual and gave her a unique look. Post surgery, she is still pretty, but in a generic way - how sad to surgically remove the very thing that made you stand out from all the other pretty people in Hollywood.

Micky Rourke was divine, his face is such a travesty now, surgery never seems to improve the naturally beautiful. Both RZ & Micky Rourke were blessed by nature & wrecked themselves- it is like they couldn't see or appreciate how physically lucky they were.

It's like just her eyes have been pulled sideways. Colin Firth looks worse though. In fact he looks like my Uncle Bert. That is not good. Uncle Bert is 87.

I think with Renee it might be less to do with ageing but more about race. I remember reading this a couple of years ago when she went to the extreme with her surgery.
