to not see the appeal of Glastonbury

Just saw something on telly about Glastonbury and don't see the appeal AT ALL.

Sleeping in a tent with thousands of other people in close proximity, no showers, portaloos, up to your knees in mud if it rains, noise, crowds, miles of walking to get around the place (which apparently is the size of a small town), they charge you hundreds of pounds to get in in the first place, loads of crusty hippies and new age shite.

Not an age thing - never appealed when I was in my teens either.

I love going to festivals, and usually do at least a couple a year. Glastonbury's not my thing though, although I have been - I like my metal. I adore live music, and the chance to cram so many bands into a few days is heaven for me.

So I've just come back from Hellfest in France (you thought it was hot here? Try a moshpit in 37-38 degree heat Grin ), then have Lostock festival next month, then Bloodstock in August. Mammothfest in Oct, although there's no camping there.

Re: the toilets - Hellfest was a revelation. They had composting toilets on the campsites, and they didn't smell, were always clean & there was even always loo roll!

God I've never even heard of Royal Blood.

Ooof that sounds like living in a Hieronymoys Bosch painting. Hellfest sounds aptly named.......aside from the pleasant sounding toilets 😬

The idea of a festival toilets crowds noise in isolation is horrendous.
Until you go bunch of friends live music great dance tents everyone happy the reality is very different.
Although not so keen now it's so mainstream😆

I love live music, and once did the relatively small Boardmasters in Newquay, in August, so of course it pissed it down. I swore never again; the event was great, but I'm not a camper. Now I go to the annual C2C Festival each March. At the 02. Staying in a 4* hotel. Muuuuuch happier.
