It's just one M, and it would make more sense

I drive past these everyday, and I'm fighting the urge

I am with you OP on that one!

I always want to put an "I" in the middle of a "to let" sign. Soooo childish.

VerityHabitat · 17/06/2017 14:38

Haha I have the "I" impulse as well.

Toilets everywhere!

AllTheWittyNamesAreGone · 17/06/2017 14:39

I did the I in to let when next door went up for rent. I'm 31 I should know better

It took me an embarrassing amount of time to figure where the m would go

I always wanted to write 'B+' next to the stickers in university library books that said 'please do not mark this book'.

BeachyKeen · 17/06/2017 15:38

I like that idea too!

'construction mends' puffin

At one place i worked there was a cupboard near the bogs that said STOPCOCK INSIDE where some wag had slipped in an exclamation mark: STOP! COCK INSIDE.

Still makes me giggle like a 13yo!

Mistoffelees · 17/06/2017 15:47

Someone write hammer time at the bottom of a stop sign in a local car park, that always amused me. And slightly different but on the approach to a roundabout for years the sign had the additional directions to 'Dave's House's as well as the usual, town centre, through traffic etc

ExcuseMyEyebrows · 17/06/2017 15:54

Ooh I've seen that sign Mistoffelees - just before the sainsbury's roundabout?
It always made me smile.

TyneTeas · 17/06/2017 15:57

There's a Stop sign just outside of Seahouses that also has Hammer time written on it. Been there for yearsGrin

BeachyKeen · 17/06/2017 16:01

Fireinthegrate · 17/06/2017 16:29

I don't get the hammer time one :(

But I have always wanted to put an i in To let.

Ellisandra · 17/06/2017 16:32

I don't like construction mends.
I think the ordinary use of the word construction refers to something new. I would want to see repair or restoration mends.
It would irritate me.

I love STOP! COCK INSIDE though.

I loved one near me that had FFS STOP Grin

Ellisandra · 17/06/2017 16:33

If you don't get the hammer time one, you're probably under 40 Grin

MrsExpo · 17/06/2017 16:35

I'm mildly embarrassed to confess to having urges to correct the incorrect use of apostrophes in signs ... as in, put them in where they've been omitted and cross them out where they're incorrectly used.

For example .... We have an ice cream van in our area which carries the signage .... "Freds famous ice's": it drives me nuts. (or should I say nut's ...?) .....

.... wanders off to get a life from somewhere ...... Smile

HibiscusIsland · 17/06/2017 16:38

What does construction mends mean?

elQuintoConyo · 17/06/2017 16:42

For all you young whippersnappers Grin

unlucky83 · 17/06/2017 16:44

I'm in Scotland and think independence would be a disaster
Every time I see a 'Yes' sticker on a car etc I have the urge to write 'I am stupid' underneath...

CaoNiMartacus · 17/06/2017 16:51

This addition was one of my proudest moments.
