A sign for Hutton Roof used to be Button Moon for years and years. I haven't passed that way in a long time but I hope it still is!

There's a little village called Jump, in Barnsley.
On the 'Welcome to Jump' sign at the entrance to the village, some wag had written underneath, Welcome to Hell'.

There is a lane near where I grew up with small lay-bys to allow cars to pass. When I was about 10 they formalised these by putting "Passing Place" signs in. For 30 years I have wanted to stop, add an extra "i" and hang a plastic fish under the sign.

Near Newcastle University there is a Saint Thomas Street. The sign says St Thomas St. This confuses overseas students almost constantly.
