People's Assembly

For those of us who are sick and tired and angry and devastated.

Like the original one comparing me to a Nazi (thankfully the pictures were deleted) Which she agreed with and justified it by saying she had a disabled child.

Which should.mean she understood how vile the comparison was even more. Ergo it was even more dreadful to agree with it

CrossWordSalad · 16/06/2017 12:18

Why are people who agree with BillSykes her fan club? Can't people just have views that happen to coincide with someone else's?

frenboop · 16/06/2017 12:19

Yes it is! We have them at work but hardly anyone joins!

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 16/06/2017 12:19

Calling me a Nazi when i have a disabked child was the shameful and disgusting comment. And also agreeing with that comment was shameful.

frenboop · 16/06/2017 12:21

Calling anyone a Nazi is awful.

Worrying that this current climate of intimidation on social media and the internet is similar to what went on in Germany in the 20s and 30s is valid.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 16/06/2017 12:21

Going to leave this ugly thread now.

All the best for the march to everyone.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 16/06/2017 12:21

What is most shocking and pathetic on this thread is that every time anyone voices and opinion or wants to take democratic action against the current frankly divisive status quo we are called undemocratic

For working within the bounds of our democracy. And now Nazis. For working within the bounds of our democracy

If the next election doesn't go your way I will fully support your right to march. Bet you don't. Actually according to your own standards you can't can you

Oh dear

explodingkittens · 16/06/2017 12:22

Blimey frenboop. I'm surprised but then I work in the NHS and education so I'm a member of two Grin

You see you have all trapped yourself in your own confusion?

CrossWordSalad · 16/06/2017 12:23

I'm really not sure that anyone has called anyone else a Nazi on this thread. I think BillSykes drew analogies between techniques used by the Nazis to get into power and techniques embraced by Momentum.

makeourfuture · 16/06/2017 12:23

Can we all agree that there probably aren't any Nazis here?

frenboop · 16/06/2017 12:24

Of course everyone is within their rights to march, I've been on a few in my time. Its the intimidation of those who don't want to march, who worry that the police have enough to do, who don't particularly like JC, who don't worship his every waking movement, who think Labour is in a bloody mess tbh, and the words that people use to describe Conservative voters (I voted libdem so totally on the fence and liberal -much good that did me) - that is shocking.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 16/06/2017 12:25

Errmm yes Bill did. Please Don't bother trying to defend

It's a bit fanclubby

CrossWordSalad · 16/06/2017 12:25

I think we should, yes.

makeourfuture · 16/06/2017 12:25

Mumsnet is many things. Nest of Nazis it is not.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 16/06/2017 12:25

Bill said directly, quoting me, that i was "aping the Nazis"

Enough now.

frenboop · 16/06/2017 12:25

explodingkittens yes neither of those here! FWIW I am not a member but do HR and get on with the union rep v well. But their membership is steadily declining.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 16/06/2017 12:26

He who smelt it dealt it.

frenboop · 16/06/2017 12:27

He who said the rhyme did the crime

makeourfuture · 16/06/2017 12:28

Labour is in a bloody mess tbh

Looking pretty good right now actually.

Now the DUP/Tories? Awful!

scaryteacher · 16/06/2017 12:29

Why wouldn't it be a serious question Kitten? When I started teaching I was being pressured into joining either of the two more militant unions. I refused as I didn't like their politics. In the end I joined ATL. Had ATL not been there, I wouldn't have joined either the NUT or NASUWT.

CrossWordSalad · 16/06/2017 12:29

X post, my post was in answer to make but I see ever is determined to insist that it is not the case, and in any case there is little point trying to debate politics with someone who is basically resorting to playgroup insults (fanclubby) so I'll leave you to it.

Thanks for trying make.

explodingkittens · 16/06/2017 12:30

That's a shame, frenboop. Union membership is important, imo. I know lots disagree though and certainly i agree outside of the main public sector professions membership is on the decline. I suppose i was just surprised that joining a union might be seen as an unusual thing to do - tbh I thought you'd auto corrected momentum and not noticed Grin

frenboop · 16/06/2017 12:33

Yes definitely unusual now outside the public sector

On the fence as to whether thats good or bad.

I like to think our employer is so good that noone feels it is necessary Smile
