Is back in the Cabinet, doing for the environment what he did to education.

FML.

the good news is he wont be able to do fuck all due to minority govt, but yes, wtf and fml

ImperialBlether · 11/06/2017 19:25

With him in charge of the environment, literally the air that we breathe, we should all be very afraid.

Henrysmycat · 11/06/2017 19:26

He's from my constituency. Allegedly, he's very good and helpful. He makes my skin crawl.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 11/06/2017 19:26

I quite like him. But then I voted Tory.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 11/06/2017 19:27

Where did you get the info from OP?

Leanback · 11/06/2017 19:27

When he was education secretary he tried to remove climate change from the curriculum allegedly...

ohforfoxsake · 11/06/2017 19:28

Dear God....

titchy · 11/06/2017 19:28

It's being reported on all the news sites!

Can't believe Hunt and Greening still in post either.

Crunchymum · 11/06/2017 19:28

Yep it's on BBC and Sky

FizzyGreenWater · 11/06/2017 19:30

Oh I quite like that idea. I imagine he will get a very thorough slapping in a very short space of time from everyone from David Attenborough to George Monbiot. Not a terrible amount of wiggle room for hapless Toryesque pseudo-intellectual 'theories' when it comes to da science.

Broccolirevolution · 11/06/2017 19:30

ThroughThick why do you like him? I'm not judging you on being a tory. I just can't understand how anyone could like him. Education? It's really important and he played around like it was nothing.
And what about that weird Times article where he said May couldn't get a good deal at Brexit because she's a secret Catholic, and Protestants are much better at this sort of thing.
In my mind this is crazy crazy shit.

metspengler · 11/06/2017 19:30

He's very professional. Despises Tory activists. Really decent as an attack dog and not afraid of pressure from loonies.

EXACTLY who you want on environment, in your corner, in the era of climate change deniers leading the western world.

Okite · 11/06/2017 19:31

The last year has been like a master class in how not to run a government. The mind boggles at who exactly is advising these people!

ImperialBlether · 11/06/2017 19:31

I imagine she's short of people to ask, really, because so many are critical of her and calling for her blood right now.

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 11/06/2017 19:33

Ugh.
Keep your enemies close and all that though.

Okite · 11/06/2017 19:34

He's very professional
He very professionally knifed BoJo in the back last year, to be fair. Really good hatchet job that no one saw coming.

NotYoda · 11/06/2017 19:34

Ah, the flobby-lipped toad returns. How very unsurprising

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 11/06/2017 19:34

Well I hadn't seen that article Broccoli so shall google. But I think he was a sane intelligent voice, but maybe in the wrong role.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 11/06/2017 19:35

I though the hatchet BoJo thing was stage managed.

HangingRock · 11/06/2017 19:35

When he was education secretary he tried to remove climate change from the curriculum allegedly...

Please don't let that be true

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 11/06/2017 19:36

And the previous advisers have been sacked Okite thank God, because they were shite.,

RainyDayBear · 11/06/2017 19:36

I await the new Gove-levels for monitoring pollution to introduce more rigour into the system with anticipation.

On a complete side note, there is a joyous YouTube video of him falling over that always cheered me up during his days as Education Secretary.

Moussemoose · 11/06/2017 19:40

ThroughThickAndThin01 we are still struggling through the total and utter bollocks he made of education.
Students sitting exams and we don't know how to mark them. Utter, utter incompetence that we are struggling with. Teachers afraid to predict grades cos we have no clue due to the mess Give left behind. Climate change is the least of your worries.

noblegiraffe · 11/06/2017 19:41

He didn't try to remove climate change from the curriculum. He wanted it moved from Geography to Science, apparently.

Unfortunately he's an excellent schmoozer. I don't know anyone who has met him who hasn't been charmed. Despite his face.

VanillaSugar · 11/06/2017 19:42

Oh yes, I love that video!
