Is back in the Cabinet, doing for the environment what he did to education.

FML.

There are at lot of anti Tory people out on MN today! Remember more of us voted Tory than Labour and we are very happy with what May is doing

MN is quite left leaning though. I have been on here since 2010 and it has always been the case as long as I can remember. And criticising Gove does not equate to being 'anti-Tory'.

My parents both voted Tory, and they're pissed off with what May is doing. So don't fall into the trap of thinking that you are representative of all Tory voters, because there are plenty of them who aren't happy right now.

I don't think more of us voted Tory than Labour judging by most of the threads I have read on Mumsnet over the last six weeks.

Hahahah hunts keeping is job too, they seem to have learnt nothing!

HumphreyCobblers · 11/06/2017 20:27

I thought he would be back.

I wish they had put him back in charge of prisons, he seemed excellent on prison reform. All the right ideas.

paxillin · 11/06/2017 20:30

TM is in no position to sack anybody, she is so weakened. Gove is probably a good man to have by your side rather than against you when the shit hits the fan.

HangingRock · 11/06/2017 20:31

Yes. Apparently Netmums is right leaning. Perhaps people who find Mumsnet too left wing could try there?

You don't have to be a Labour voter to realise what a pig's ear TM has made of all this.

Yes indeed VanillaSugar. I am a Tory voter and I am livid.

LellyMcKelly · 11/06/2017 20:37

You are happy with what May is doing? Getting into bed with the DUP? That's bonkers.

reetgood · 11/06/2017 20:37

That is democracy. Labour did not win.

Ummm I don't think the conservatives could be described as 'winning'. They reduced their majority and are now a minority government propped up by the DUP.

Re Gove....what does fracking fall under?

VanillaSugar · 11/06/2017 20:38

"WINNING'" in the same way as Charlie Sheen is "Winning!"

I'm glad to see Michael Gove back. He's a great Brexiteer and will do his best to see our farmers and fisherman get a good deal.

herecomesthsun · 11/06/2017 20:39

WTF!!!!!???

BarbarianMum · 11/06/2017 20:39

Dh and i work in nature conservation. He's upstairs banging his head on the desk and answering a hail of emails and I'm downstairs working my way through a bar of fruit and nut.

Goddam son of a bitch. Angry

And now I'm so cross, I've posted twice!

FeeLock28 · 11/06/2017 20:49

I will never forgive him for that utterly fatuous thumbs-up he gave with Trump, the man who boasted about his sexual assaults. Whilst Murdoch was in the room.

babybythesea · 11/06/2017 20:49

I hope while he gets farmers and fishermen a good deal, that he remembers part of his role is protecting the natural environment. We've plundered fish stocks to a point where many are not sustainable any more and the answer isn't to be allowed to continue fishing them until they are gone. We've farmed in a way that has decimated farmland bird populations and something needs to be done to support them and try and ensure their recovery.
If he can support the industries without giving rise to further wildlife crises then great as it really, really needs doing. But I wasn't impressed by his approach to education (this is my idea, I'm not going to listen to anyone else, nor trial anything, but push everything on a large scale far too fast and leave everyone struggling to figure it out). I hope he doesn't bring the same approach to the environment.

VanillaSugar · 11/06/2017 20:49

BarbarianMum That's called "Twinning!"

I think that Corbyn ran a very devisive campaign , all rich people are nasty and greedy and all of the less well off are angels. He forgets that those companies and owners are employers who often reinvest in people and innovation . Nothing is as black and white as he makes out .also it was labour who started privatisation of the NHS. People make out he is honest and honourable but he would if he had his way go against the labour manifesto and get rid of trident and the royal family. I am not making a judgement on either of those but he does not even believe in his own manifesto . And yes I have voted labour in the past . Like I said they are all as bad as each other .

SmileEachDay · 11/06/2017 20:54

He'll probably make the environment pass all sorts of arbitrary tests before he'll help it.

SmileEachDay · 11/06/2017 20:55

Dear GOD, he might challenge May when the inevitable Tory leadership battle ensues.

cakegoblin · 11/06/2017 20:57

I just do not understand how/why someone with no background in a subject should be arbitrarily put in charge of it? Unless Gove has spent his non-political life in an environmental science type role, that I'm not aware of? Seems a ridiculous way to run a country IMHO

JamieXeed74 · 11/06/2017 20:59

Gove is a clever guy I am glad to see him back. Its feeling like the wagons are circling around May, she is going to go down fighting and she has a bloody strong cabinet around her, if only she will listen to them.
