I think she'd be brilliant! Anyone else reckon it might happen?

I think she's a really normal and hard working person. I think she'd do us proud.

Couldn't agree more MissKelly

I'm a Scottish voter, staunchly anti Tory, and what I see of Ruth Davidson is rather bulldog-esque, stick to the party line, and occasionally Wtf moments.

I'd be surprised if RD is happy with who they've got into bed with.

li1972 · 09/06/2017 23:06

Yessss! She's ruddy marvellous! She'd be fabulous!

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 09/06/2017 23:09

The Great Poobah of Scottish politics sat in both Holyood and Westminster at the same time. He was elected as MSP for Aberdeenshire East in 2011 then as MP for Gordon two months later.

EllaHen · 09/06/2017 23:15

Election Spy has just made a joke about it.

"Get Ruth Davidson on the phone, see if she fancies a move to Maidenhead."

After, one of the Tory spindoctors wonders in May will step down causing a By-election.

EllaHen · 09/06/2017 23:16

if May

misskelly · 09/06/2017 23:21

Yes, and if you wanted Ruth to win you'd put her in the only safe seat, bumping David Mundell. Assuming that Boris and Davis don't have designs on being PM and the 1922's approve her.

RJnomore1 · 10/06/2017 09:19

I'm in Scotland.

Ruth tweeted a link to her speech at an Irish pride event yesterday when Theresa announced her alliance with the DUP. She definitely doesn't agree with everything that Tory central does.

Also re sitting in both holyrood and Westminster. An old school friend of mine stood down as a Tory msp to stand (successfully) for Westminster. They seem to have an unwritten rule of no double mandate. Which is quite correct, how arrogant would you need to be to think you could successfully carry out both those roles at once

TheBogQueen · 10/06/2017 09:23

I was horrified in a recent debate when she implied that it was ok to vote Scottish conservatives into Westminster because the worst of the austerity policies just affected England and Wales. In Scotland they are devolved.

So Scottish Tories can vote on English/Welsh matters knowing their constituents are ok.

dementedma · 10/06/2017 09:29

I like her too. Bright, articulate, feisty and humorous.

itsausername · 10/06/2017 09:46

Things Ruth Davidson defends

  • rape clause
  • bedroom tax
  • cuts to housing benefit for younger people
Argeles · 10/06/2017 10:04

She seems like a great politician to me, but the poor woman would have to work closely with the DUP who abhor gays. Or would she be able somehow to prevent that nightmare scenario happening?

Weddingbelle123 · 10/06/2017 20:36

I'm from northern Ireland ( not a DUP voter) and I think Ruth is brilliant! I am ashamed that people from the "mainland" might think k that the DUP represent us all.

heatseeker14 · 10/06/2017 20:45

I love Ruth she is down to earth, knows her stuff & is such a strong character. I think she would be great as PM.

Lochan · 11/06/2017 02:04

I don't support her politics at all but she certainly speaks well.

I can't see why she'd want to move to England and have to deal with the old Etonian boys club.

squoosh · 11/06/2017 02:13

Her PR spiel is clearly working.

misskelly · 11/06/2017 02:15

I'm sorry I think those of you in England or outside the central belt may be unaware that Davidson has courted the support of Uniounist in Scotland who are aligned with the DUP and their ilk. To now be outraged at a coalition with this mob is pure hypocrisy on her part. It seems it's ok to get their vote or have them as councillors in Scotland.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 11/06/2017 02:16

No way.

All she did was make this election about independence and browbeat everyone until they felt they had to vote for her to prevent it.

She just repeats herself and bangs on in dogmatic fashion

Not a fan.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 11/06/2017 02:18

Especially as she told anti-brexit harridan Nicola Sturgeon to STFU and sit down

That was just rude (not an SNP voter)

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 11/06/2017 02:19

A rude aggressive Tory..whats not to love

ClopySow · 11/06/2017 02:20

Nope. She's a female Boris.

misskelly · 11/06/2017 02:20

I agree, I am so sick of sexist abuse aimed at female MP's there is no need for it.

What a load of tosh.

The Labour, Liberal Democrat and Conservative parties are all unionist parties. None of them are aligned with the DUP.

The former UUP and the DUP are on the hard political right so have always and always will support a Conservative government.

There is no coalition and there is no formal agreement.

It will be a 'supply and confidence' which is virtually as it is now as that is how they tend to vote.

If Sturgeon hadn't rammed her stupid demand for indyref 2 down everyone's throat it is unlikely there would be a Tory resurgence but she did and there is.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 11/06/2017 03:44

All she did was make this election about independence and browbeat everyone until they felt they had to vote for her to prevent it.

Suggest you take that point up with Sturgeon. She was the one who was banging on about independence.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 11/06/2017 03:51

Not true actually.

She wanted another referendum once terms of Brexit were agreed.

Then Tories saw a way to get elected and ran with it. Clearly it was successful, you are obsessed about it.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 11/06/2017 03:59

Shes a horrible arrogant woman IMO
