to loath Baroness Chakrabarti and love Isabel Oakshott

watching Question Time, feeling pissed off and depressed. Finding Baroness Chakrabarti utterly awful, and Oakshott, who I know I SHOULD dislike, great.

Just watched this, Oakshott was vile!

I'm watching it now. Amused that Shami Chakrabarti has the election results written on the palm of her hand

Never heard of IO but she comes across as an airhead. (And is she wearing some sort of strange latex mask?)

SC isn't cold - the opposite I think. She's very emotional.

Oh yes, it does look like a weird mask. I thought Campbell was very good.

Oakshott was revolting, rude, ignorant, charmless, uninformed, her responses to other panelists ( actually who knew their stuff/ heavy weights) concerns about peace process in Ireland dismissed as 'it is what it is', wishing people would stop talking about the past ( are you serious ignore Irish history)..

But then she writes for the Mail so the epitome of trash journalist ( inc the hair extensions🙈)

I dislike them both.

IO was sneery, petulant and arrogant.
I'm not surprised she has worked for the DM... so lacks integrity too.
I loved when she said 'But it sells' to Campbell saying DM was poisonous and he responded with 'well, if that is what matters to you...' or somesuch

I agree with PP who say SC is 'earnest'. She does come across as very serious but also thoughtful. I didn't see her as cold at all, in fact she is quite passionate and was more easily riled by IO's sarcasm and rudeness whereas AC shrugged it off.

She was political editor of the Sunday Times for a number of years so I think to call her a trash journalist simply because she writes for the Mail is a bit much. A lot of very good political journalists write for crappy tabloids see Kevin Maguire (Mirror) and Tom Newton-Dunn and James Forsyth (The Sun) amongst others.

I'd never heard of IO (haven't read the Mail for years) but judging by that appearance I haven't missed much.

She is apparently in her 40s but reminded me of a certain type of girl we probably all came across in our teenage years.

YABU. I think the complete opposite. I didn't know who IO was, but when she picked up Campbell on the Daily Fail comment I thought she must work for them and that that explained everything.

Chris Grayling isn't a very nice person. He did come across ok on QT but I can never forget him wanting to take books/libraries away from prisoners because he said they didn't have a right to read.
