watching Question Time, feeling pissed off and depressed. Finding Baroness Chakrabarti utterly awful, and Oakshott, who I know I SHOULD dislike, great.

OP posts:
WipsGlitter · 10/06/2017 20:18

They were both awful. However, shallow as it is and I know shouldn't judge on appearance etcetc, but IO's Botox is unbelievable. As are the heir extensions.

areyoubeingserviced · 10/06/2017 20:23

I think IO was absolutely awful. In fact I turned off because I found her irritating
Totally agree with poster who described SC as 'earnest' , but she doesn't come across as jumped up at all.

limitedperiodonly · 10/06/2017 20:25

didn't it grate with anyone that, asked a question about anti-semitism, Chakrabarti said she was bored with the subject and refused to answer?

OP lied and hasn't come back to explain herself after being challenged. I don't accuse people of lying lightly but It's on iplayer if you want to check it.

I'm not fan of Chakrabarti but I don't think she lies. Liars are despicable.

areyoubeingserviced · 10/06/2017 20:27

Limited- OP obviously has her own agenda

corlan · 10/06/2017 20:30

Never seen Oakshott before but she made a fool of herself. She behaved like a moody teenager looking for a fight.

limitedperiodonly · 10/06/2017 20:33

I guess so areyoubeing.

lucydogz · 10/06/2017 20:34

Crikey - despicable! Yes, going back you're right. But still think she was very grudging, given that she'd agreed to be on a panel.

OP posts:
leghoul · 10/06/2017 20:35

Yabu

TheSultanofPingu · 10/06/2017 20:36

I was cringing for Oakshott. She thought she was being witty and clever but in fact made rather a fool of herself.

dalek · 10/06/2017 20:37

Anyone else think that the OP is OC - or someone that OC has persuaded to start this post?

dalek · 10/06/2017 20:38

IO even!

OliviaPopeRules · 10/06/2017 20:39

I'm not fan of Chakrabarti but I don't think she lies. Liars are despicable.

I'm not sure I would go as far as to say she lies but I was very disappointed with how she acted around the anti-semitism review into labour and her subsequent peerage (even if it wasn't dodgy it definitely looked it). I didn't always agree with everything she said but I used to really respect her, not any more.

OliviaPopeRules · 10/06/2017 20:41

Wondered who OC was!
I think IC has enough of a career to not be too bothered by an MN thread and if you saw the abuse she gets on twitter most of this read like compliments.
I think she is an okay journalist but don't agree with much of what she says/writes.

dalek · 10/06/2017 20:46

Olivia - it only occurred to me as as DM seem to be a bit enamoured by MN - judging by the number of threads they steal stories from.

Was just a thought.

OliviaPopeRules · 10/06/2017 20:47

dalek you could be right of course :)

limitedperiodonly · 10/06/2017 20:54

You lied lucydogz .

It's on iPlayer

greenlavender · 10/06/2017 21:08

She was obnoxious, puerile & misinformed.

FatGirlWithChocolate · 10/06/2017 21:16

YANBU OP, you are entitled to have an opinion, the same as everybody else. I noted that SC said that "Jeremy Corbyn won". Clearly "won" doesn't mean what it used to mean.

SouthWestmom · 10/06/2017 21:17

What were you guys watching? I thought QT was a Thursday?

OliviaPopeRules · 10/06/2017 21:18

Clearly "won" doesn't mean what it used to mean.

Smile
OliviaPopeRules · 10/06/2017 21:19

Noeuf there was an election special last night. Not sure how Dimbleby could still stay awake!

MargotMoon · 10/06/2017 21:21

YABU. That Oakshott woman gave me the rage so badly I went to bed in a foul temper and have still been wishing I could slap her silly snidey face all day today. She is vile.

Emmurkent · 10/06/2017 21:32

YABU, from my point of view, but the bias you've shown from yours is kind of fascinating.

limitedperiodonly · 10/06/2017 21:44

I noted that SC said that "Jeremy Corbyn won". Clearly "won" doesn't mean what it used to mean.

Can you pinpoint that bit in the broadcast FatGirlWithChocolate?. I'm not saying Chakrabarti didn't say it but maybe it needs to be taken in context. I'm a bit of a stickler like that.

It's on bbciplayer . I don't think it's fair for anyone else to have to trawl through it, so seeing as you brought it up could I'd be ever so grateful if you gave proof. Thanks

StatisticallyChallenged · 10/06/2017 22:06

I can't remember the wording but she did definitely say JC won.

I don't think he won, but I think it was a victory for him if that makes sense - because he proved that he could run a successful campaign and dramatically increase the vote share so I think it's a victory from that perspective. But he didn't win the election.
