Who wants a poisoned chalice, anyone?

gunting · 08/06/2017 23:10

80 seats too close to call in the exit polling.... nerve wracking times ahead!!

BorrowLove · 08/06/2017 23:12

Does that mean there are 70/80 seats missing from those predictions then, or have they been allocated on trend?

The80sweregreat · 08/06/2017 23:13

Its the marginals that matter most i guess.

Oysterbabe · 08/06/2017 23:15

So far the exit poll has underestimated the tories.

BorrowLove · 08/06/2017 23:16

The80sweregreat - yep. I'm in one. So nervous.

Oysterbabe - is there a breakdown for the exit polls per constituency please? I couldn't see one.

Birdsbeesandtrees · 08/06/2017 23:16

Boris won't. He reigned rather than face the consequences of Brexit "success" hat he campaigned for.

chinlop · 08/06/2017 23:17

So far the exit poll has underestimated the tories

We've only had 2 seats counted and they were both labour... Confused

Birdsbeesandtrees · 08/06/2017 23:17

I think PP means previous exit polls ?

HS2whattodo · 08/06/2017 23:17

Tory vote higher then predicted in Sunderland which is a real Labour seat so I would hazard a guess than many marginals will fall the Tories way and they will get the majority they want

AngeloMysterioso · 08/06/2017 23:18

Lol at the political correspondent on Sky News-

'It's starting to look a little bit like 1974, where you have a conservative Prime Minister go to the country on the prospectus of "who governs?" And the country says "not you!"'

histinyhandsarefrozen · 08/06/2017 23:18

I fear Boris.

Oddly Murdoch has always wanted Boris.

thenorthernluce · 08/06/2017 23:19

My experience if the exit poll: the person gave me a sheet of paper where I put a cross next to the name of the candidate I voted for and I placed this into a box. So rather like casting my ballot, really.

Amanduh · 08/06/2017 23:19

No, the exit poll said in Newcastle and Sunderland the swing would go Labours way. The swing is in fact Tory! In Sunderland alone 5000 tory votes gained. Hints exit polls may be wrong

theduchessstill · 08/06/2017 23:19

I have stayed up on the basis of this exit poll. If it turns out to be a clear or increased majority I will be seriously pissed off. Only bright side is that it looks like curtains for May.

InDubiousBattle · 08/06/2017 23:19

Lib demand press office tweeted ruling out a deal or coalition

BorrowLove · 08/06/2017 23:20

'It's starting to look a little bit like 1974, where you have a conservative Prime Minister go to the country on the prospectus of "who governs?" And the country says "not you!"'

But, they've only announced very safe Labour seats so far - and there has been a swing towards the Tory's greater than anticipated in both seats (probably due to UKIP).

Birdsbeesandtrees · 08/06/2017 23:20

Ah ok I see.

Well I hope the swing doesn't go the tories way.

seoulsurvivor · 08/06/2017 23:20

chin they ask people who they voted for as they come out of the polling station and then base the exit poll on that.

brexitstolemyfuture · 08/06/2017 23:22

Oh no, I popped my cork too soon. People are now saying 370!

OP posts:
NoLoveofMine · 08/06/2017 23:22

I wish people wouldn't call him "Boris", it adds to his persona and distracts from his hideous character. Abhorrent individual.

If Johnson becomes PM I'd consider seeking to leave the country (which I'd hate as I love it here) as soon as possible.

Dowser · 08/06/2017 23:23

Well, I would lie through my teeth just to piss them off 😀

seoulsurvivor · 08/06/2017 23:23

marmite just tell them you're not interested in answering then.

They're not going to drag you off and apply the thumbscrews.

seoulsurvivor · 08/06/2017 23:23

dowser bit immature. Why would it piss anyone off?

BorrowLove · 08/06/2017 23:28

Guessing they used one of those constituents in the exit poll and that is how they know the exit poll breakdowns are not equating to the Tory swing that has been shown.
