AIBU to cancel my Hotmail account after 20 years?

It is a bit of a ridiculous rant, but I have had my account since 1997 approx. I have sat through change after change, but today I have had enough. AIBU to want to smack the developers over the head and yell, WTF are you thinking? After years of the email design, I can no longer delete emails based on the subject line en mass. I have to delete each individual email. If I open the email, I have to go the reply button and scroll down to delete the message. And before anyone says that i can set up a delete rule, I do not want to do this. I can see the email and mark to delete as wanted. What numpty decided that this was a good idea? I am now thinking I will just use my yahoo account until they decide to change a working email design. grrrr

I don't like this new version either, its messy and not user friendly.

I can't bear how theyve separated the inboxes. How the frig do hotmail claim to know which one are important to me and which aren't!?

YANBU! I hate it. I always have loading issues as well. It reloads itself multiple times and when on my phone it often won't open emails but instead brings up the select to delete function. I have also had my account for close to 20 years!

Oh! And that awful view that I managed to get rid of where more interesting emails (according to them) were at the top. Ugh!

By all means stop using Hotmail but I wouldn't be moving to Yahoo for anything!

I've paid for email for about ten years and it's so nice to have a reliable service hat doesn't go through these ridiculous reincarnations.

you can get rid of that focused setting (no idea why they think it is useful, when they dont even get rules sorting properly)
got to settings
layout
focused inbox
then tick"dont sort messages"

I don't know why anyone would use anything other than gmail, to be honest.

Because ive had my email since time imamorial and it would be a pain to change. From what i can gather gmail has its own problems

It took me a while to get used it, still haven't actually. It's for my junk emails now.

The important ones (like online purchase confirmations) go to my gmail. Far better imo.

I agree with you OP, but I cannot be bothered with the insane amount of faff that would be involved with swapping email accounts.

Out of interest, why do you need to delete emails? I've never deleted an email from my hotmail in the 20 years I've had it.

The search function is pretty good, so I never have any trouble finding things from years ago.

trying to block people without opening is something that has escaped me on gmail. It is one of the things that I appreciated about hotmail. Yahoo is the work of the devil.

Yahoo (on the mobile) isnt much better. I get an email.... I have to scroll all the way to the bottom to hit the reply button.
