YawningHippo · 08/06/2017 11:06

I'm not sure what to say, but I wanted to offer a handhold.

Zaberwocky · 08/06/2017 11:09

Could ignore this either.

I think a lot of us are more lonely than we care to admit.

Can I ask why you feel lonely?

Cocklodger · 08/06/2017 11:10

Yanbu I'd use it Blush

AfunaMbatata · 08/06/2017 11:11

There is always chat roulette..
Grin

livefornaps · 08/06/2017 11:11

Sorry to hear that.

CrankyDoodle · 08/06/2017 11:13

I'd use it too. Stuck at home all day in the rain. Might talk to someone for five minutes on the school run but that's it now until dh gets home this evening Sad

mortificado · 08/06/2017 11:15

I'd use it! Constantly Blush
Hope your ok OP

AfunaMbatata · 08/06/2017 11:15

What's up anyway? I'm always up for a shat

AfunaMbatata · 08/06/2017 11:16

Chat*! Oh dear lord why don't we have an edit function?!Blush

FannyWisdom · 08/06/2017 11:16

No.
No chat roulette! As the great Cartman said "you gotta wade through a lot of dicks"

For a bit of idle chat Hannah the telly threads here are good and you can dip in and out.

JennaRainbow · 08/06/2017 11:17

We're all always here for a chat. What are you up to today?

Sycamorewindmills · 08/06/2017 11:17

What's going on today Hannah?

LorLorr2 · 08/06/2017 11:17

Have you heard of Silverline for elderly people? They have buddy systems where you get paired with an older person to have scheduled phone chats with weekly. It keeps them connected with someone when they don't have anyone else and you have then had a rewarding talk with someone too.

MusicToMyEars800 · 08/06/2017 11:18

There are loads of threads like this I'm probably on all of them Blush
I am lonely, I am on my own pretty much every day, I just want a good friend/friends, someone who is like me and is decent and trustworthy!
I just can't seem to find one though....
Where are you all from?

callmehannahbaker · 08/06/2017 11:19

I'm good, just don't really have friends and my mum has gone away for a few months-I normally speak to her about 10 times a day (I have massive mental health issues I'm just starting to get a hold on things).
She's only been gone 5 days and I feel a bit lost with only DD to talk to before and after school and nothing to do in the day.
I do volunteering but it's very sporadic and I have nothing for 2 weeks.

I always think we are lucky in Yorkshire that everyone chats, strangers, shop keepers, etc.
Regardless of you wanting to chat Grin

If you don't see people regularly it's hard to keep up with their life. I always feel like I'm being briefed for the first ten minutes.

mygorgeousmilo · 08/06/2017 11:32

Hi Hannah! It's hard to feel isolated, but people are here - what's on your mind? What do you enjoy doing? Smile

growinganotherhead · 08/06/2017 11:36

Hi Hannah, Flowers
where are you?

callmehannahbaker · 08/06/2017 11:37

I'm in Hull so it's definitely a friendly place, I isolate myself more than anything-was meant to get my hair cut for the first time in years yesterday (I've an aversion to mirrors/self care) but then DD's shoes broke so new ones trumped the cost of new hair.
I was actually relieved as I would have had no idea how to do 2 hours of small talk!
I just need 10 mins every few hours to not go mad!

I'm generally doing really well-see my hoorah thread!

Hi Hannah Flowers

I'm another lonely one, at home all day by myself, I have a chronic illness so all my friends have filtered away now. My DH is my best friend, I look forward to DS & DH getting home from school/work. I can go all day without speaking to another adult Sad

foreverandalways · 08/06/2017 11:46

Hi everyone I am Jo, I am also another lonely one sadly...
I too have a chronic illness which has turned my life upside down and am at home all day with just my beautiful dog but still....
I too have isolated myself and struggle with group settings, social events etc, even hospital appointments which seem the highlight of my week ATM...

Xx

Sycamorewindmills · 08/06/2017 11:58

Are you rebooking that haircut Hannah?

Herbie22 · 08/06/2017 12:07

Same :-(. No chronic illness. Just very shy and never seem to be part of the group. Waiting at home with baby DD (Not much of a conversationist) for DH.
There is baby group today and I'm desperate to socialise but feel to scared to go to a room full of strangers.

callmehannahbaker · 08/06/2017 12:12

As DD needs shoes/cardigans (they appear to get eaten at school) I won't be able to afford it this month.
