I'm just so lonely

Do you have a fast cuts job by in Hull? £15 for ladies cut and easy chat about city of culture improvements.

Can't vouch for yer hair but it'll be fast and cheap!

FuckMyUterus · 08/06/2017 12:45

Hannah you can always message me. I have a friend or two in hull I could connect you with if it's appropriate? I'm in the Midlands myself but always open to make a new friend :)

Sycamorewindmills · 08/06/2017 14:12

Any beauty colleges around? My family were always used as guinea pigs byDD when she was training as a hairdresser. I had all sorts done (under supervision) at her college for a very small payment.

CrankyDoodle · 08/06/2017 14:28

How do people find friends when stuck in with small children anyway? Is being lonely just a part of the early years that we're stuck with?

callmehannahbaker · 08/06/2017 17:12

I found a cheap hairdresser! Tomorrow at 9am my waist length dreadlock hair will be gone!

ShatnersBassoon · 08/06/2017 17:17

I was coming on to mention Silverline, but I see someone beat me to it Smile

Sycamorewindmills · 08/06/2017 17:28

Well done Hannah! How you going to have it?

BarbedBloom · 08/06/2017 17:30

I'm in Wales if anyone would like a real life friend and I am not that scary (unless I'm hungry). Or happy to chat with any lonely people via Facebook or WhatsApp. I have been really lonely in the past and it is crushing. I don't want anyone else to feel like that.

callmehannahbaker · 08/06/2017 17:37

I've no idea, I have a side/undercut which makes things a bit harder to sort but will let the hairdresser decide I think, after my huuuuuuuuge weight gain I have no idea what suits me.

allegretto · 08/06/2017 17:38

You can call The Samaritans just for a chat, you know. Lots of people do.

callmehannahbaker · 08/06/2017 17:47

I feel that would be a waste of their resources though

Fancyacuppaluv · 08/06/2017 17:52

Snap, me too! I'm home signed off sick waiting for back surgery. The highlight of my day is limping to school and back and the only adult conversation I get is from DP when he's home from work at 9pm or the checkout person in Tesco.
You're not along and YANBU, a phone-a-friend hotline would be great! X Flowers

Asmoto · 08/06/2017 17:57

Apologies if this isn't something you'd like, but I always find people strike up conversations when I am out with my dog. If you like dogs and could borrow one to walk, or volunteer through a charity as a dog walker, I'm sure you'd find people talking to you. A couple of dogs uninhibitedly sniffing each other is a great icebreaker.

callmehannahbaker · 08/06/2017 17:58

I tried dog walking before but (I know it's pathetic) I was a bit too scared of the dogs not having been around any ever

OP posts:
MotherofA · 08/06/2017 18:00

Here here

Asmoto · 08/06/2017 18:07

It's not pathetic at all, OP, it's very understandable. If you are open to the idea of getting used to dogs, there might be a less full-on volunteering opportunity with a local dog charity where you could meet dogs gradually, with a view to walking them when you feel ready.

noego · 08/06/2017 18:28

If you want a 10 minute chat call Samaritans they will be okay with that.

mummyrabbitpeppapig · 08/06/2017 18:52

Could we start a thread / page everyday for people who just want a general chat? I'd be up for it

callmehannahbaker · 08/06/2017 20:53

We can use this one?

OP posts:
Sycamorewindmills · 08/06/2017 21:02

Absolutely use this thread. I'm waiting to hear back about your haircut Hannah.. off to bed shortly but will check in tomorrow!

callmehannahbaker · 08/06/2017 22:59

I lied to everyone today. I called my crisis team. I'm due some contact at some point over the next few days, sorry

OP posts:
callmehannahbaker · 08/06/2017 23:00

I would much prefer real contact from actual people

OP posts:
Brandnewstart · 08/06/2017 23:05

Are there any charities that would be appropriate for you? We have a few here that take people out and build their confidence etc. Usually referred by MH services but can self refer too. I can have a look online for you if you can want?

JanetStWalker · 09/06/2017 01:41

I always take a book to the hairdressers, it's an effective way to avoid mirrors and conversation.

metspengler · 09/06/2017 01:47

You and me both hannah. Flowers
