Diane Abbott replaced: Ill health?

PizzaPower · 07/06/2017 09:36

So she's gone, is it really ill health, or do they think she is a massive liability and a vote looser?

OP posts:
SerfTerf · 07/06/2017 11:30

I think it is blatantly obvious that she is not very well.

Agreed. It wouldn't be surprising if her levels were a bit askew. An electoral campaign trail is not the best lifestyle for a diabetic (long hours, lack of sleep, eating on the hoof). TM (also diabetic and insulin user) has bowed out of various things and sent substitutes. The media handling is the difference and hopefully nobody is going to pin their vote in media strategy alone.

Wingles10 · 07/06/2017 11:31

I may have missed the answer to this -

How did those emails surface?

SouthWestmom · 07/06/2017 11:31

The emails read that JC and the bloke have been talking and want to add colour to the reason for the illness that prevented her doing Woman's Hour.

She initially is interested, he suggests an existing condition, and she says diabetes wouldn't by itself prevent her from doing WH. Then says she doesn't want to say something easily disproved -

Reads to me she doesn't know of any condition she has beyond diabetes and is reluctant to make one up

DarlingCat · 07/06/2017 11:33

"She has been subjected to the most hideous misogynistic and racist smears ive seen in a long time."

Not a chance. Would you say the same about our ongoing emotional rants about Theresa May?

SerfTerf · 07/06/2017 11:33

After reading her E-mails she talks about "adding colour" to the "illness story" Sounds like she is not being entirely truthful??

No, not at all. The fake Labour media bod she is corresponding with asks for historic media details to use to "add colour" to the fake story. But she resists that and says she doesn't want to be untruthful (giving the reason that it's easy to disprove a lie).

littlehandcuffs · 07/06/2017 11:33

She was pranked by a journalist, just google "Diane Abbot prank" and you can make up your own mind.

SerfTerf · 07/06/2017 11:35

Wingles

The emails came about because the person she's corresponding with is an experienced hoaxer (normally in more frivolous matters).

So he was an agent provocateur in bringing them about and he released them.

littlehandcuffs · 07/06/2017 11:39

It would be extreamly worrying if it does turn out that her and JC are willing to lie about serious illness? She assumes she is talking to him in the e-mails.

FoxSticks · 07/06/2017 11:43

Give it a fucking rest@makeourfuture

You're annoying your own 'side' too. We are here for varied and interesting discussion, NOT to be badgered into insanity by a Labour-bot (and I'm a - grudging - party member).

Round of applause for SerfTerf. The shutting down of conversation, by insulting others with opposing views is ridiculous at the moment.

SerfTerf · 07/06/2017 11:43

No, she thought she was talking to Seamus Milne, Labour's Director of Strategy. That's how the emails to her were signed, with full Labour Party address, footer etc.

IloveBanff · 07/06/2017 11:44

littlehandcuffs Wrong. She thinks she is talking to Seumas Milne, the Labour party’s director of strategy.

I actually think Theresa May looks ill - and it would explain why she's been avoiding events left right and centre. But if she's made so unwell by campaigning for the GE, then I struggle to see how she's really well enough to run the country.

SerfTerf · 07/06/2017 11:49

I have no problem with any differing opinion Fox even quite extreme ones and I usually positively warm to anti-Tory ones Wink

What I DO object to is the flow of threads being constantly broken by accounts who are not here to opine (in the real sense) or discuss but merely to spit out automated-style one liners of "yeah? What about YOUR mum then?" quality.

SerfTerf · 07/06/2017 11:51

No this threads not being spammed at all is it Fox? Grin Am I allowed to comment negatively on THIS recent spam or is that "shutting people down" too? Smile

littlehandcuffs · 07/06/2017 11:51

She thinks she is talking to Seamus Milne on JC's behalf, he reports directly to JC : )

waitforitfdear · 07/06/2017 11:52

What the fuck those 2 posts above.

Dianne always had foot in mouth disease and I hated her racist attitudes and comments.

I would be amazed if she had untreatedtype 2 diabetes it's easily detected and easily treated and easy to control and cute by lifestyle changes.

Still wish her good health and I also hope we never ever see her in any political stage again.

PollyPerky · 07/06/2017 11:53

I don't think Theresa May looks ill.
I think- as a woman around her age- she must be bloody knackered.
At the weekend I doubt she grabbed more than 2 hrs sleep after the attack and then she was at one of the hospitals visiting the injured in the afternoon after chairing Cobra.

Cut the woman some slack please- she's 60 and the hours she's putting in and the travelling would knacker most people half her age.

waitforitfdear · 07/06/2017 11:54

I mean user and rev

littlehandcuffs · 07/06/2017 11:54

Or are you saying that JC is SO incompetant that he does not know what his Director of Strategy is doing the day before the election||||?? Mind bogalling! : )

waitforitfdear · 07/06/2017 11:55

Agree polly she looks bloody amazing after what's happened recently and I actually had no idea she had type 1 diabetes.

Mu respect for her has increased

PollyPerky · 07/06/2017 11:55

Soviet the idea that TM looks ill was first spouted by far lefty Paul Mason.

She's not ill. Stirring up shit like this is shameful. I doubt they would say the same of a man because it's acceptable for men to look knackered and weary- and earns them Brownie points.

Misogynist crap.

Dandandandandandandan · 07/06/2017 11:56

She was talking about diabetes in the press a couple of years ago - quite rightly campaigning for greater awareness - and said then that she has a family history of it. As a black lady of a certain age, with a family history, she should have been tested regularly.

More likely it's a combination of incompetence, stress, tiredness and humiliation as she realises her incompetence that has gotten to her.

waitforitfdear · 07/06/2017 11:56

Well said surf by the way it's bloody irritating
