I also love the little casual mention of Obama in the statement. I'm sure Comey is above pettyness, but part of me hopes he popped in the fact he never felt the need to make extensive records of their conversations to get a swipe in!

I know this is beside the point, but having read the very well written Comey testimony I am now hoping he will take up a career writing le Carre style spy fiction.

However on a serious note, I was inadvertantly mooned yesterday by a man off his head apparently trying to scrape some substance off the pavement and it was really deeply unpleasant.

I think this is why he mentioned Obama: the investigation about Clinton's servers have been ongoing for quite a while and the Democrats would have been totally freaked out. Still. Obama never asked to see him about it with or without others present. Obama never sought to influence him.

I think he also mentioned Obama to highlight how unusual he felt the situation was from the very start. That none of it was standard practice and he had serious concerns from the first meeting, not just in hindsight.

cozie for me, it means missing out on watching Comey's testimony

The local party campaigner called last night to see if I could do an additional telling session as they didn't have enough people and I said I would, only it's 3pm -4pm which is exactly when the testimony takes place!

Am gutted not to be watching it but it wouldn't sit right to choose watching the coverage over doing whatever small bit I can over here. Still fecking annoying though!
