P4ORN. On a big shiny eff off 4x4. Stuck behind him on the roads today. Felt irritated that someone would pay money to declare their love of porn publicly and concluded he must be an utter wanker. Literally.

I have a personalised plate relating to something I'm really passionate about.

I've had nothing but smiles related to it.

It's not rude or twattish but some people might think it's sad- to be honest I couldn't give a monkeys. I got it to make me smile, no one else- and it makes me smile every time i see it :)

I can't stand personalised number plates either.

Brash and twattish.

PippaH74 · 22/05/2017 08:17

Love this, hilarious that people to pay to have these number plates advertising what knobs there are... the fact that they pay for them!!!

SoupDragon · 22/05/2017 08:22

You seem to feel quite strongly about it

Actually, I couldn't give a shit what others think. I'm deliberately making the same comments that people are making about the owners.

I find it highly amusing how annoyed someone's choice of number plate makes some people.

I can guarantee that every single poster has or does something that would make someone else call them a twat.

Why does not liking personalised plates make one an ignorant, judgemental twat? Especially the ignorant bit.

What makes them ignorant is thinking that a personalised numberplate makes someone a member of a homogenous group that drives badly and are arrogant twats. What makes them judgemental is making the judgement that they are all twats based on the numberplate on their car.

Do you not think it is funny that it seems OK to judge an entire group of people as twats and then question why someone might call "your" group of people judgemental twats?

Small lorry carrying portaloos: LO02 POO

Wondering if they also have LO04 WEE

SoupDragon · 22/05/2017 08:24

I got mine because it makes me happy and, like a PP, it makes me smile.

I am not a twat, I'm not brash, I am not arrogant and I am not a bad driver. I also actually couldn't give a shit what people who don't know me think about it because I know that they are wrong.

blueskyinmarch · 22/05/2017 08:25

I have a personalised number plate.

It is the initials of my dead daughter and the age she was when she died. It keeps her with me a little every day.

Twattish?

SoupDragon · 22/05/2017 08:27

The plate mentioned in the OP is one that would make me wonder why on earth someone would want it on their car but the vast majority are just ones that make the owner happy.

The one in the OP probably makes the owner happy too but I think it's a bit odd.

There's a big 4x4 I've seen here with a plate that spells NO SAFER (probably NO54FER) . That always makes me smile.

Westray · 22/05/2017 08:29

also actually couldn't give a shit what people who don't know me think about it

But you clearly do. Otherwise why make such a display?
A personalised number plate is very much about making a statement..
It shouts , I'm rich , I'm special. I am a snowflake.
If you don't realise that then you are blind.

TwoIsQuiteEnoughThankyou · 22/05/2017 08:29

I agree. It's nothing to do with being twattish. (It's simply a matter of not having any class or style).

CressidaTheHeathen · 22/05/2017 08:31

We have a KI55 ME X near us Grin

I also saw ORG45M (I think) for sale for over £200k!!!!

iseenodust · 22/05/2017 08:40

All are naff except one owned by a local ice-cream maker - EAT 99 S

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 22/05/2017 08:40

How on earth does a personalised plate shout 'rich', 'I'm special', 'precious snowflake' ? Sounds like jealousy there, can't think of any other reasoning. I could just about understand thinking about money but that's all, and not often relevent.

Btw no, before you ask, I can't even drive!

Westray · 22/05/2017 08:46

Sounds like jealousy there,

You are funny.

VelvetSpoon · 22/05/2017 08:46

I can't whip myself into a frenzy over number plates tbh. Lots of my family have them, as does my bf (family all have their initials with single digit - think JTN 1/2 etc, or their business names). I like the clever ones, there's a snooker player who has POT 147 I think. Some of them can be worth huge amounts, I read once that Max Bygraves (apologies anyone under 40 who will never have heard of him!) was offered a 6 figure sum by Mercedes for his MB1 plate Shock

I offered to get one for DS when he turns 21 but he's not keen, he felt they are too attention seeking! Maybe he's right.

There is a H44 RNY round here, and another one that's S random digits XY which I think is intended to be SEXY. The driver definitely isn't...

BendydickCuminsnatch · 22/05/2017 08:48

Yes I love the 2B and NOT 2B too :) They always seem to both be there which makes me wonder why s/he needs 1 car let alone 2 Grin

Westray · 22/05/2017 08:48

triptrap- but that's how people are viewed when they have a personal number plate.

Some may be impressed, the rest of us think they look simply foolish.

There is a Bentley down the road with the number plate: SMUG 1

RockyBird · 22/05/2017 08:52

And this. A bit pointless really as he was already driving an Audi

AIBU to think this personalised number plate is twattish ?
PoisonousSmurf · 22/05/2017 08:52

Rocky Bird, That's really cool! LOL! If you use the DVLA number plate generator, you can get a WHO plate easily for £250.

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 22/05/2017 08:52

Yeah i dont get the rich bit either

I think that some oersonalised number plates are twattish if they are rude or 'offensive '

But not all of them

I dont have one myself Smile
