P4ORN. On a big shiny eff off 4x4. Stuck behind him on the roads today. Felt irritated that someone would pay money to declare their love of porn publicly and concluded he must be an utter wanker. Literally.

I agree the ones relating to businesses can be quite good.

On the while I think personalised number plates are Twattish but occasionally when they relate to the trade of the vehicles owner then they are funny.

Someone I know bought a personalised number plate for her daughter for her 18th birthday which vaguely spelt her name (think K81E type of thing). I couldn't think of many things I'd want less for a birthday especially an 18th.

Ratatatouille · 22/05/2017 00:43

Why the small penis comments? Absolutely no bearing on whether someone is a twat or not. Just nasty.

Iflyaway · 22/05/2017 00:43

saw L999 KKK (as in Ku Kluk Klan).

How creepy.

YANBU. All personalised plates are twattish Grin

IvorHughJarrs · 22/05/2017 01:12

We saw a Hummer in Blackpool with a plate that, I can't be certain of the actual characters, but it read as EAT SHIT. I don't mind most personalised plates, think they're a bit pretentious but have never seen one that tasteless before

KingKongHadABigDong · 22/05/2017 01:20

It's common round this way for 18th and 21st gifts to be private plates. Usually the age of the birthday and some version of the persons name or initials. Can't say I've noticed any clever ones for business, I will be looking now

20thCenturyGirl · 22/05/2017 01:40

I live in the US and there is one near me that is SINN FEIN 😵.

lolalament · 22/05/2017 02:10

I saw YO 15 GAY

Time40 · 22/05/2017 02:40

My car has the personalised plates of the previous owner. I looked into changing them, but in the end it was far too much faff. It's not really awful; it's just his initials and the day of the month he was born ... but it's obvious that it's a "special" plate, and I do cringe a bit.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 22/05/2017 02:55

You'd all hate living in Australia then! Grin So many personalised numberplates... there doesn't even seem to be a set format if they're not personalised, well, not one format anyway. And none of them explain what year the car was made.

My favourite UK one was REX 1 0K on a silver Daimler Sovereign - yes it's pretentious to the max but it amused me! (That was about 30 years ago).

Here though, every third person seems to have personalised plates - they don't have to follow a format, so you can have an actual name like WINNIE (for e.g., one that annoys me locally). They can't be that expensive seeing how many there are (although I haven't looked into it because I, too, think they're naff).

Shootfirstaskquestionslater · 22/05/2017 03:22

Not all personalised number plates are twattish my aunty has one hers is L6 Val.

SquatBetty · 22/05/2017 06:13

Unless on a trade vehicle, they are the height of naffness. Cringe, cringe, cringe.

TheDowagerCuntess · 22/05/2017 06:13

I read a comment about personalised plates once, which I thought was kind of true - the person had yet to come across one that made them think more of the owner.

If I ever got one (can't see it happening), I'd just get my name: 738051.

NotYoda · 22/05/2017 06:15

Personalised number plates are pathetic. Often the person driving the car is a really bad driver. If they've also got a Baby On Board sticker then that's a double whammy of twattishness

sorry, missed out my Grin

SoupDragon · 22/05/2017 07:38

I imagine that the owner doesn't give a shit what some ignorant, judgemental twat thinks of them. :)

I love that too. Smile

NotYoda · 22/05/2017 08:02

Soup

That's true

Do you have one? You seem to feel quite strongly about it

Blodplod · 22/05/2017 08:09

There's a lady around here with OR6GA5M (or something like that but you get the idea) on a big black Porsche Cayenne. I cringe when I see her picking up Hugo and Xanthe from their very posh private school and wondered what on earth possessed her to do that.. recently, it transpires the answer is because is very successful in the porn industry making films!! Shock my flabber was well and truly ghasted!
