To think Theresa May looks rattled

WhoIsRonniePickering · 15/05/2017 22:37

I watched the interview she gave on BBC News. She looked nervous and shaky. Do you think she's now thinking she's made a massive mistake and misjudged the Corbyn juggernaut? She looked like she was thinking "fcccccccccccccck."

the research doesn't show that fees discourage access. What discourages access is poor primary and secondary education.

Yep.

RedToothBrush · 22/05/2017 12:50

Well, this morning's news about abolishing tuition fees in September has angered me as it's a cheap shot for cheap votes with no thought how it will be executed.

As opposed to...

Sorry, your logic baffles me.

juneau · 22/05/2017 18:24

Oh no? Then how do you account for articles like this: www.theguardian.com/education/2017/feb/02/nursing-degree-applications-slump-after-nhs-bursaries-abolished

Jupitar · 22/05/2017 18:28

Laura kuenssburg has just said on the BBC that "for the first time Theresa May looks rattled" she's obviously reading mumsnet and getting her quotes from here GrinGrin

Whistleblower0 · 22/05/2017 18:37

She does indeed looks rattled. When she loses control over who she can hand pick to ask her safe questions, it all starts starts to unravel.

She became visually angry today at a press comferemce when journalists had the impertinence to ask her why she did a u turn.

makeourfuture · 22/05/2017 18:47

Hell, she's had a decade to get her speaking points ironed out.

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 22/05/2017 19:08

I luffs Jezza
and so do all my colleagues and pals- many of whom work in universities and some are in the highest tax bracket and therefore won't benefit from his policies but we care on a more broader level about society as a whole.

My eldest son and all his mates and their girlfriends are wearing 'vote Corbyn' tee shirts and changed their Facebook profile pics to 'I'm voting Labour'.
These are bright kids all about to go to University and incur huge tuition fees
The tide is turning thank the goddess above but probably not in time for the GE.

Whistleblower0 · 22/05/2017 19:11

Go JezzaGrin

SenseiWoo · 22/05/2017 19:12

Do you think TM is being kept away from the public because she loses her temper when challenged? I would love to see her go all DefCon5 but I don't suppose we will.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 22/05/2017 19:19

That's one thing she and Corbyn both have in common. They both get snappy when challenged.

The tide is turning

Bit of conformation bias in your theory though.

Whistleblower0 · 22/05/2017 19:19

Yes if course Sensi That's why she wouldn't take sort in a leaders debate.
Can you imagne her trying to negotiate with the EU. Grin

Whistleblower0 · 22/05/2017 19:25

She hasn't answered a single question on the Andrew Neil interview.
He's allowing her to spout the usual shit.

RedToothBrush · 22/05/2017 19:26

I can honestly say I'm not sure who is trying hardest to throw the election.

Its almost as if no one want to be responsible for Brexit negotiations and take the fall when Brexit goes tits up.

Except they are trying to win this election and displaying epic levels of political car crashing.

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 22/05/2017 19:32

90,000 young people registered to vote on Sunday - I don't think they did that to vote for May.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 22/05/2017 19:37

90,000 young people registered to vote on Sunday - I don't think they did that to vote for May.

It is great that people are registering however a word of warning. Registering does not mean eligible to vote however and the numbers often get cut dramatically. Either due to eligibility or because they are already registered and don't realise.

AdelindSchade · 22/05/2017 19:41

I thought she seemed rattled on Andrew Neill and trying to blame a mess completely of her own making on Corbyn didn't come across well. Very dishonest.

SenseiWoo · 22/05/2017 19:43

Fight! Fight! Fight!
I'd like to see the mask slip from both their faces.

makeourfuture · 22/05/2017 19:50

90,000 young people registered to vote on Sunday

We can all agree this is good news!

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 22/05/2017 19:56

makeourfuture absolutely - can only be a good thing

Labour support surges in Wales with 16-point shift towards Jeremy Corbyn's party
The party has overtaken the Tories in Wales and has a 10-point lead

The poll would see Labour hold all its seats in Wales and take one off the Conservatives, Gower, the most marginal seat in the country.

It has top-line voting intention figures of LAB: 44% (+9) CON: 34% (-7) PC: 9% (-2) LDEM: 6% (-1) UKIP: 5% (+1).

LineysRun · 22/05/2017 20:37

Online polls showing surge for Labour amongst first time voters in my area. And I mean, massive surge.

Tuition fees effect?

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 22/05/2017 20:40

LuneysRun yay! you made me happy with that post

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 22/05/2017 20:48

Online polls showing surge for Labour amongst first time voters in my area. And I mean, massive surge.

Which online poll?

LineysRun · 22/05/2017 20:52

Well, onemorecup, the proof will be getting these polls converted into actual votes, as ever.

goldaspickledfruit · 22/05/2017 21:09

Even if her majority is reduced, it will add power to her unhappy back benchers. Labour is gaining confidence in this campaign. If she does get a majority, she may find she's not in power for very long.

On the other hand, this has been a year of populist political shocks so anything's possible, especially if some more scandals are unearthed before the June 9th.

No she didn't look very happy.

It's funny watching her arrive in dark cars with heavy security to be greeted by protestors, and watch Corbyn have 20 000 Libertines fans chant his name!
