He said I don't think you should sit there. I said said excuse me what are you on about? He said the bags are massive and take up the fly space.

Well that was it. I was so angry, it wasn't a big amount. How dare he say that to me. I shouted at him that he had really offended me and it backed off and sat in the flight seat.

Now I'm thinking about it I don't know AIBU?

Did you get the call from Direct Line before or after the bus journey?

happypoobum · 13/05/2017 09:21

This is why I should have stayed up later last night!

SherlockPotter · 13/05/2017 09:22

I'm so confused... 😒

Wtf is a flight seat?

HappyFlappy · 13/05/2017 09:23

Lets hope the op feels a lot better when he or she wakes up eh?

Or sobers up.

Guavaf1sh · 13/05/2017 09:25

So when I google 'fly space' this thread is the only relevant article that comes up!

TheSecondOfHerName · 13/05/2017 09:25

Honeydragon wins the thread. That diagram is both clear and informative.

DesertSky · 13/05/2017 09:25

You sound unhinged

SasBel · 13/05/2017 09:26

What a thread to wake up to!

I have to get the bus soon.

Before you alight safely, ask the driver what the FLY SPACE and FLIGHT SEAT are.

We need to know.

AmserGwin · 13/05/2017 09:29

WTF are you on about? Surely it's the aisle seat and the window seat? Are you drunk OP?

HappyFlappy · 13/05/2017 09:30

I think the OP was sitting in the aisle seat, leaving the seat next to the window (the fly seat) empty, but her bags were overflowing into it. The man got on the bus and wanted to sit in the seat next to the window, but felt that the OP and her bags were taking up too much space. When he said so, the OP assumed he must be referring to her size, because her bags were actually small, and shouted at him, so he retreated and sat on the flight seat, which I assume is a single seat at the front, possibly a fold-down one near the luggage/wheelchair/buggy soace.

Please - Rusty.

The last thing we need here is the Voice of Reason.

Here - have a Pringle. They're Nuts 'n' Berries Flavour, with just a hint of Honey and Wild Alaskan Salmon.

HappyFlappy · 13/05/2017 09:32

Oh thank God - a diagram

HoneyDragon - you have saved us all.

Sour cream and chive flavour tastes of sick. Paprika is the best. And Pringles come in a pipe, not tube. Now we've cleared that up, can I just say that flies have feelings too, it's a valid lifestyle

PetalMettle · 13/05/2017 09:35

Well done @honeydragon
Sod a deletion message, I'm nominating this for classics....

GinIsIn · 13/05/2017 09:37

Interestingly there is only one result when you google 'fly space and flight seat on bus'....

AIBU about the man on the bus?
nakedscientist · 13/05/2017 09:37

OP you could have moved up to the bird space ( large area found at the top of the stairs) and left the rice, Pringles (flavours suitable for stowage) hanging in the sloth space (between the road surface and the undercarriage).
Best to avoid the rodent space (between the floor and chairs) lest said creatures eat the rice and approved_for-bus flavoured Pringles. Try to leave the cat spaces (sometimes colloquially called SEATS) free. Did the man have WHISKERS and mainly say meow?

LonginesPrime · 13/05/2017 09:39

Threads like this are why I love MN...

HappyFlappy · 13/05/2017 09:40

Please, please don't anyone do anything to have this thread deleted. It deserves Classic status, and has contributed enormously to the fields of entomology, bus nomenclature, Pringle Preference Among The General Population Including Bears, and Diagrammatic representations of Complex Problems. (RustyBear solved it, HoneyDragon clarified it - what a team!)

I think that "RustyBear and HoneyDragon (Inc)" should be our "go-to" team for anything that requires clarification and/or a diagram.

The depiction of the patiently waiting little fly is particularly impressive. Kudos, RBHD (inc).

😂 prawn cocktail pringles FTW

HappyFlappy · 13/05/2017 09:40

Great minds Petal.

Madhairday · 13/05/2017 09:41

Is this the bus you were on, OP?

It's no wonder he asked you to move your bags.
