AIBU to be really pissed off with my neighbourgh right now.

My neighbourgh has 2 staffies and she told me when I moved in here to keep my 2 cats indoors which I do anyway because her dogs will attack them. Tonight I've just had her 2 dogs leg it in to my house and chase the cats upstairs the cats are fine but are now hiding on top of the wardrobe too frightened to come down. They need to keep control of their dogs they scream and shout at people when their dogs are in the shared garden there are a lot of young kids round here who are frightned of their dogs but they seem to think that its ok to shout at them because their dogs have lived here for 5 years so we should all just put up and shut up. I am fed up of going out in to my garden only to be nearly sent flying by one of her dogs and bitten every time they see me. Has anyone got any advice on what I can do other than just grin and bear it. Really want to put a fence up round the bit of garden that come with my house but I need to speak to easte agents first about that.

To be honest I think you need to report this. They need to keep their dogs under control.

Have you been bitten? I'd say they need reporting but if you've been bitten it should be dealt with fairly quickly.

FeckTheMagicDragon thank you think I will report it I've only lived here a month so didn't want to couse myself any problems but am fed up of their dogs now. I want to be able to enjoy my garden but I can't when they can't keep control of their dogs and tonight was just the final straw for me.

Definitely report OP. Is no one going to report until a child is hurt or worse? They sound totally out of control!

Report, they have out of control dogs who are highly likely to maul a child or kill your cars given half the chance.

It's not for everyone else to stay in doors whilst near wild dogs roam free, besides your cats were inside and that didn't protect them.

Google the 2 year old in Liverpool who was attacked in her own garden just days ago by a neighbours dogs if you have any doubt about reporting

I would report this. According to the safe met police website those dogs are classed as dangerous:

'Under the law any dog (of any breed or type) can be considered dangerous in any place if it is not kept under control. The dog doesn’t have to bite anyone, it could just show aggressive behaviour that makes someone feel in fear for their safety.

For more information you can read section three of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 relating to Dogs Dangerously Out Of Control'

AnathemaPulsifer they bit at my hands and wrists they never leave any marks but I dread to think what they would do to a child. I can't have my 3 year old niece round here because I don't want her out in the garden with those dogs incase they got her she wouldn't stand a chance against 2 staffies and neither would my cats.

Definitely report. I would be mortified if my dogs had gone into someones house. What does the neighbour have to say and what is their housing status (purely so you know who you can approach about this situation)

If the dogs bite you you should report it to the police and the council, my husband got bitten at work and the dog had to be put down.

If the dogs come into your house shut them in a room and call the police. Dogs should be under control and not allowed to terrorise people or cats

If they bite every time they see you they are out of control and you need to report it to the police.
It's is unfortunate for the dogs as they may end up pts but rather that than a child maimed or worse.

Thank you for your advice everyone I'm going to report them someone needs to before they get a child. I thought I was being unreasonable I have tried to just grin and bear it and just put up with these dogs but I refuse to anymore I have as much right to that garden as those dogs do and I think my cats are entitled to be left alone in their own home and not chased round it. Think I can understand why the girl and her son who lived here before me moved out.

They mouthed you, if they had bitten, you'd have been marked.

With any pair of dogs things can get out of hand and they are heavy set, tough dogs, so they need to be bought under control.

They aren't presenting as vicious, though, but knocking someone over could cause a serious head injury.

It's way too early for the PTS, cries.

People have said report. Which is the right thing to do. Owner can be told to control her dogs. She's currently committing an offence under the dangerous dogs act.

Report it of course. Bastard dogs.
Bird: telling her "you were mouthed not bitten". Oh well that's fine then is it. No it is not, it's scary and horrible and it's the OP's garden. Don't wait for these dogs to break your skin or kill your cats, report it.

If the dogs are ruling the garden and out of control then the owners are obviously a real waste of space. If the dogs will potentially kill the cats then they need to keep the dogs away and under control.

Turns my stomach to think they might one day take offence to a small visiting child and attack.

Report them. The dogs have entered your house and bitten you. They are a tradegy waiting to happen

But as Birds said, they haven't technically bitten you, they haven't drawn blood and infant haven't left a mark on you. Re cats, it could be that they are interested in chasing them because they ARE interesting to chase. we have a dog that chases one of the cats but the minute it sniffs the other one runs in terror as she's been on the sharp end of that claw! Regardless of these 'benefit' of the doubt comments, if they make it impossible for you to enjoy part of your home/ enter you ur home, you need to approach you neighbours and ask them to keep them out of your home, also report to your ll and relevant authorities.
