I've seen a house I really want to buy!

If 675,000 Mumsnetters could just lend me a pound for, say, 6 months, I'd be sorted Grin. That would give me enough time to get my house up to scratch for selling.

Or just 135,000 of you lend me a fiver?

Please, please, please oh please! Am good for the money, promise.

il give you a pound too
But have to ask seeing as were here ....AIBU to do my own begging post?! Especially seeing as I 'd only need £200k to buy my dream house! (I live in the North...it's a 3 bed detached with 4 car driveway and double garage in a lovely picturesque seaside town!) Just a bit daunting the thought of selling our lovely little house to fund it!

SarahGraceMc · 12/05/2017 21:35

bibbitybobbityyhat · 12/05/2017 21:37

Does the house have good potential to start a few Mumsnet threads?

Disputable parking arrangements?
Small patio for a passing elderly Korean lady to sit on?

If so I'm in

SarahGraceMc · 12/05/2017 21:39

Come on set up the page Pamela Grin Wine

SarahGraceMc · 12/05/2017 21:40

Oops wrong name too much Wine

Crashbangwhatausername · 12/05/2017 21:43

I'm really looking forward to the house warming if this goes ahead, the real challenge will be finding the ultimate mumsnetter who can feed the entire party of scarf wearing attendees moaning about their mother in laws with just one chicken

wingingitmostdays · 12/05/2017 21:43

I'm in and I'll give you £2 because I'm feeling generous this evening Grin

bibbitybobbityyhat · 12/05/2017 21:45

Ha! I love the name Pamela. Perhaps I should namechange?

Yes, house has fantastic potential for many MN threads. It's a little bit different, which is why I just LOVE it so much!

It could happily accommodate 675,000 Mumsnetters for a thank you party. Imagine the MN neighbours/parking threads about that Grin.

I only need 80k for my dream house munchys Grin

SarahGraceMc · 12/05/2017 21:49

Yes name change to PamalasPoundHouse Smile and create a giving page op before all your donations disappear

Funnyfarmer · 12/05/2017 21:50

Did you not put the euro millions on tonight op?

Gazelda · 12/05/2017 21:52

You can have a quid from me.
I presume there'll be a plaque with the names of all donors. Can my name be first please.

Travelledtheworld · 12/05/2017 21:54

I'm in too ! Cheaper than buying you a cup of coffee. You can repay me with a cup of peppermint tea next time I am passing.
That's the problem with crowdfunding, you have to give the donors something back. But in this case a sense of solidarity with our MN sisters will be ok.

DitchCamille · 12/05/2017 21:56

You could call the house Pamela.

ChrisPrattsFace · 12/05/2017 21:58

I'm feeling a bit flush at the minute, have £2 from me Grin

ChrisPrattsFace · 12/05/2017 22:01

bibbitybobbityyhat · 12/05/2017 22:04

SpringBail · 12/05/2017 22:07

I have a money box with old coins in it. I'm sure they must be worth a few quid? But you need to find someone willing to exchange them and being so generous I will let you keep the profit Grin

QuintessentialShadow · 12/05/2017 22:07

Yes, what happened to the Korean Grandma?

bibbity, I'll send you £1!

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 12/05/2017 22:09

I'll give you a tenner if you either give me your current property or you let me and DD live with you.

TheRollingCrone · 12/05/2017 22:12

I,ll never be able to buy a house. So fuck it yes, I will quite happily give a £1.
And just to up the ante if I win the euro tonight I, ll but it for you on t h e proviso we have a garden party every year with a steel band Grin

Tigger365 · 12/05/2017 22:14

I'll give you a fiver if you take my in laws?

HarrietSchulenberg · 12/05/2017 22:18

I know someone who genuinely did this but long before the days of crowdfunding.
Borrowed small amounts from everyone he knew to buy the house he'd fallen in love with as a small boy. Asked the vendor to hold it for him until he'd got enough and she liked him so agreed. He kept her updated on progress and when he was just £4k short of the total she lent it to him: she wanted him to have the house as she knew how much he loved it.
He reckons he's paid everyone back now but I bet there's a few people who've given up on getting their £20 back now (30 years later).
