Think it's weird that my neighbours EAT their dinner in the street?

I live in a usually quiet cul-de-sac (now I say usually, we do have 2 persistent drug users who are middle-aged women and an old couple who seem to think it's 'normal' to have their ds, dil and GS round to their bungalow 7 days a week from 7.30am till about 9pm).
Now the aformentioned old couple have a tendency to think they 'own' the cul-de-sac they sit out side in all weather's watching their GS (who isn't a nice little boy- he swears and punches other kids) ride around on various powered cars from about 10am till about 8pm weekends and school holidays and then from school finishing time till 8pm during the week.

This isn't just the odd hour here and there it's ALL the stated times!
Now the better weather is here the whole family sit in the road on deck chairs with a parasol up and a kiddie bench for the GS. They have now started encouraging other children (some of their own family's children some that are strategically dumped on them by the lazy mother who would rather be out on her own than watching her 2 kuds and others on the estate) to congregate in our 'quiet' cul-de-sac, (please bear in mind that there are about 12 houses in this area with about 2 cars for each house).
So today it's been a lovely sunny day I went outside to put washing out only to be met with the familiar smell of cannabis from drug addict no1 them to top it off we went out to take our 3 kids to the park only to be met with the old couple their DS, DIL And GS EATING their full Sunday roast on their laps on deck chairs strewn all over the road!
I am definitely no snob but come on surely this is a no-no? Or am I just as my husband puts it 'getting myself worked up over nothing'?

I find it weird but i also wish i was a bit like that. Life must be easier when you don't sweat the small stuff.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 07/05/2017 17:56

Well they won't change will they ? So go to the stoners - ask for a toke and if you can't beat them ?

Actually yanbu though that would really annoy me

AgentProvocateur · 07/05/2017 17:56

Eating dinner in the street is the thing that would bother me least out of all the activities mentioned in your post. I'd be looking to move, frankly.

LucyFuckingPevensie · 07/05/2017 17:56

They were sitting on the actual pavement ?
Eating a roast ?
I have had nightmare neighbours, and it does suck.
Ours used to spend all day in the garden drinking , smoking swearing. I don't mind any of that, I am partial to a bit of all three myself. Just in a naice way, that doesn't bother other people.
I wouldn't let it get to you though.

SmokeCloak · 07/05/2017 17:56

They sound like a riot. I'd love to live in your street. How old are the old couple? Do they socialise with the middle aged druggies?

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 07/05/2017 17:57

Whatcha gonna do?

Supersoaker them?

Up the anti with a four course meal with candles?

Move your sofa onto the street with your TV?

BigSandyBalls2015 · 07/05/2017 17:57

Where the feck do you live 😳

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 07/05/2017 17:58

Ante not anti 🙄

BasinHaircut · 07/05/2017 17:58

Are they blocking the road? If they are literally in the road I do think that's quite odd. Do they have to move their bench when people want to come and go in their cars?

Esoresila · 07/05/2017 17:59

Lucy....they were in the actual road lined up next to each other!

SmokeCloak · 07/05/2017 17:59

That's hilarious Grin I would have laughed.

Esoresila · 07/05/2017 18:01

Basin...its a dead end but in full view of everyone driving up... including the lovely people on Google maps Grin

HappyLabrador · 07/05/2017 18:01

They sound like an oddball family and their behaviour is weird. Who the hell would think it's normal to eat a roast dinner, sitting in a deck chair on the street? Bizarre.

Yanbu.

LucyFuckingPevensie · 07/05/2017 18:02
Grin Maybe the sun had moved out of their garden ?
ProfYaffle · 07/05/2017 18:02

"Up the anti with a four course meal with candles?"

YY to this, in full cocktail wear Grin

LapCatLicker · 07/05/2017 18:02

Yeah, that's weird and would annoy me too. yanbu. Now and again on holidays and particularly sunny weekend days I would think it quite festive but every day is just taking the piss.

LucyFuckingPevensie · 07/05/2017 18:03

Did they have a little table for the salt, pepper and gravy ? Were there condiments ?

Esoresila · 07/05/2017 18:04

Smokecloke....they certainly socialise with both druggies and the couple are in their late 60s but they are weird!

OP posts:
Lemonnaise · 07/05/2017 18:05

They have no shame. YANBU.

Esoresila · 07/05/2017 18:05

AgentProvocotor.....nobody want to live up here next to the scrubbers in the street and the housing association don't want to do anything about It!
