Come out, come out wherever you are!
I know it will mean you will be attacked and preached at, you will be told you are rich, uncaring and hate everyone except yourself, but will anyone stand with me and admit to planning on voting Conservative on June 8?
I can't be the only one surely? I didn't vote the Conservatives in by myself in 2015!

Come on Tories on here - please tell me why you are happy to vote for the party that is decimating the NHS, education and social care. I genuinely want to know how you can see that happening and still vote Tory.

MajesticWhine · 06/05/2017 21:27

I refuse to vote for Lib Dems after they were spineless and gave up on their promise about student loans.

Really? Still this is the main issue after all this time and everything else that is happening? The Lib Dems formed a coalition. This meant that they could not keep all their manifesto promises. The Tories could not keep all their manifesto promises either. It's the nature of a coalition.

TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin · 06/05/2017 21:27

How can people ignore the posts from doctors and nurses here?

rogueantimatter · 06/05/2017 21:27

My impression is that the cons policies might have appeared to help the economy. But only in the short term. As more and more people have less disposable income and the effects of cuts to public services cost those services more and more eg police having to deal with mental health crises etc the economy will suffer.

Anyway what is the point of the economy growing if most of the benefits go to the very few?

BizzyFizzy · 06/05/2017 21:29

I'll be voting Conservative in the GE.

Cannot fathom why anyone would vote for any other party ;)

rogueantimatter · 06/05/2017 21:29

You can hardly blame the lib dems for forming a coalition. If you're a political party you presumably want to be part of the gov't.

Labour's been running scare stories about the imminent abolition of the NHS for over 70 years, and yet it's still here.

Maybe the voters have worked out that Labour's talking shite? Grin

TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin · 06/05/2017 21:30

Im talking about actual doctors and nurses posting.

Whatawaytomakealiving · 06/05/2017 21:31

That's the point rogue, they are one of the 'very few'; how else will they manage without public services?

Whatawaytomakealiving · 06/05/2017 21:33

And I work in education, like I say, horrific

NC4T · 06/05/2017 21:33

@TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin

"Shoehorning" in anti-semetism? You do realise anti-semetism does exist? That it's real? Lovely that you can be so flippant about it. I can't be unfortunately. It goes to the heart of who I am and who my children are.

Accusing people of being plants if they bring it up does nothing but alienate them. Labour supporters can't engage on this issue, can they?

Frillyhorseyknickers · 06/05/2017 21:33

Well I don't get my healthcare through the NHS- but it has been sliding for decades - it isn't a new revelation under the current govt?

Basically, I'm voting for the policies which appeal to me and those sit with the conservatives who are the only party to ever put forward a decent agricultural policy... after all, we do need to eat, everyone on this little island. 🙄

rogueantimatter · 06/05/2017 21:33

Doctors quitting in droves.

Nurses getting pay cuts.

Teachers quitting in droves.

Zero hours contracts, self-employed more highly taxed. Under 25s dependent on their parents. Almost nothing done about the scandalous housing market. How long before the young/ish people rebel/riot?

TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin · 06/05/2017 21:34

Nc4T and do you know my background?

ShastaBeast · 06/05/2017 21:35

I'll be voting labour but they don't stand a chance. If my vote really counted I might reconsider, they aren't in the best state and I hope a whooping in the election gets JC ousted as leader. They need to get closer to the centre ground and have viable policy ideas - there's a lot of ground they could cover but aren't due to infighting and lack of clear direction.

TinselTwins · 06/05/2017 21:35

Cons being shit is not IMO a good enough reason to vote for equally shit in other ways Labour

"why are you voting labour"
"because torys are bastards"
"but what do you like about LABOUR"
"OMG DON'T YOU CARE ABOUT WHAT CONS DID "
"yeah yeah cons are bad, but how are labour going to do better"
"coz Torys are bastards"

ConstantCraving · 06/05/2017 21:36

Ahem. I work in social care and I can tell you that it has never been worse. Only people with critical and substantial needs get a service - and even that is pretty basic. Over in the NHS it's no better - I know because I work with colleagues there trying to get people out and into rehab or respite, but there's no bed spaces.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 06/05/2017 21:38

I'll be voting Lib Dem again. We are lucky enough to still have a Lib Dem MP in Ceredigion.

TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin · 06/05/2017 21:39

Again, how can people ignore this and vote for status quo?

rogueantimatter · 06/05/2017 21:41

How ironic that anyone believes the cons are the only party to encourage a work ethic. The labour party traditionally represents the working class.

What about the work ethic of unpaid 'workers'? Breastfeeding mums who bust a gut to do the best for their babies, parents of SN children who have had to give up work to care for their children 24/7, people who look after elderly parents who suffer from dementia etc. The night 'shifts,' nursing, etc they do; isn't that work? '

Jazzywazzydodah · 06/05/2017 21:44

Breastfeeding mums who do their best for their kids? Do you mean not working do they can stay home and breast feed?

TinselTwins · 06/05/2017 21:44

The labour party traditionally represents the working class.

traditionally
In the present tense they don't really work for anyone IMO. Lib dems would be a much better option in reality for the working class if they stood a chance

user1484578224 · 06/05/2017 21:48

What do people like about Cons?

rogueantimatter · 06/05/2017 21:49

Yes tinsel - we need a new political party.

SorryToDisturbYou · 06/05/2017 21:49

Frilly, you've mentioned the 'decent agricultural policy' a couple of times, could you outline what it is that you like about it? And presumably an arable farmer is going to be looking for different things from a sheep farmer, derxa?
