Come out, come out wherever you are!
I know it will mean you will be attacked and preached at, you will be told you are rich, uncaring and hate everyone except yourself, but will anyone stand with me and admit to planning on voting Conservative on June 8?
I can't be the only one surely? I didn't vote the Conservatives in by myself in 2015!

Radishal plenty of people have made mistakes in their past, and I agree Corbyn has made plenty, but are you expecting our politicians to be cleaner than clean? Or just the politicians on the left? People make bad judgement calls from time to time (blair and the WMD's) and you have to be able to separate that from th persons held beliefs, he is a member of stop the war, do you honestly think he supports the killing or rather that he wud like to approach people as 'friends' to try and make some progress in any way possible even if its a tiny tiny sliver of a connection that builds, I'm an idealist, I dont deny that, but I had no one to particularly vote for back in the Blair years but I dutifully put my cross next to his name because he did at least have some good ideas (and some truly bloddy awful ones as it turns out), so to have some one who at least is a social democrat and not a neo liberal is going to get my vote because that means more to me than a decent man whos made some bad choices.

So I understand that you dont agree with but I respect your ability to do so but on the whole meh I could give a shit [shrug]

Nicemil1 · 09/05/2017 14:51

just one of my dd received compensation for a massive head injury.

I hate Corbyn and his supporters as thry haven't held this Tory government to account since Ed left office. It's s tsd too late to start promising the moon on a daily basis when your front bench spokesperson can't do simple maths ffs. They are not good enough and you know it and won't get elected.

Suits Corbyn I think

Nicemil1 · 09/05/2017 14:52

Disregarding all his past he hasn't held the tories to account since becoming leader.

makeourfuture · 09/05/2017 14:54

Sorry if that is inconvenient to you but for someone like me, that's hard to ignore.

I respect your views on the above. Absolutely.

The only point I hope to get across is that before BEFORE we labour members can put someone forward as leader during a general election, we have to elect them.

That is the sequence of events.

Jeremy Corbyn was elected twice by a pretty good margin. He is our elected leader.

If anyone is unhappy with this, there are democratic methods to change leadership.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 09/05/2017 14:56

Disregarding all his past he hasn't held the tories to account since becoming leader.

I disagree Nicemil on balance I think he has held them to account on a fair few things and on balance in comparison to previous leaders isnt doing such a bad job, but you have your own bias to contend with as do I

FelixtheMouse · 09/05/2017 14:58

He's given not just one but two Tory PMs the easiest ride any PM has ever had since PMQs started in the 1960s. And this man is going to usher in the New Jerusalem. In your dreams.

Radishal · 09/05/2017 15:00

The antisemitism report disaster was last year. He's made a career out of this.
It isn't like smoking a joint at uni or being caught on camera saying Angelina Jolie is fit. He did the things I have referred to as an elected member of parliament who should be able to differentiate between terrorists and people who are prepared to compromise for peace. If, as he claims, he was extending the hand of democracy and dialogue as an elected representative of the Mother of Parliaments ( or some similar disingenuous shit), he should have made it clear that these bastards were evil murderers not fecking freedom fighters.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 09/05/2017 15:01

Such a convincing argument, well thought out, structured, convincing, well done Hmm Grin

Radishal · 09/05/2017 15:03

"on balance in comparison to previous leaders isnt doing such a bad job"
Name one unsuccessful Labour Party leader that JC is better than.
At least Michael Foot had intellect and integrity on his side.
Ed Milliband gave Dave the Rave a run for his money. I could stomach Ed.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 09/05/2017 15:06

ED gave him a run for his money? I dont remember seeing that bit, but again radishal youre not going to convince me, you are seeing it through your own bias as am I, Corbyn is the only leader currently that holds a predominant amount of my views on society therefore Im going to vote for him, makes sense if youre me though right? Obviously not for you and I believe there are other political parties are running for you to vote for.

FelixtheMouse · 09/05/2017 15:10

Thank youJust. Compliments are always welcome.Wine

Radishal · 09/05/2017 15:11

But none of the other political parties could realistically produce the next PM and form the next government. The tragic thing is that with someone less shit than Corbyn, Labour could do it. For all the reasons you and others have explained, the Tories are there for the taking. But he is rubbish at being Labour leader because he can never appeal nor does he seem to want to appeal to the centre left. He shuns them and prefers his own echo chamber.

shortcake76 · 09/05/2017 15:14

I'm voting Conservative on June 8th so you're not alone! I am neither rich or uncaring, but in terms of leadership qualities I think Theresa May is the best candidate for the job, particulary with regards to Brexit negotations.

Also, locally, our current Conservative MP does a lot for the local community, so she'll be getting my vote.

sticklebrix · 09/05/2017 15:19

Hell would have to freeze over before I'd ever vote Tory. No offence, I know plenty of lovely Tories.

Have voted Labour in the past but will be voting LibDem this time. Corbyn as PM - no way. They have been an appalling party of opposition this time. I don't trust them to do a good job in government.

LD is the the only party that is unapologetically pro-European. They get my vote on that basis.

makeourfuture · 09/05/2017 15:22

someone less shit than Corbyn

Why did the centrists not field a strong candidate last leadership election? Why?

FelixtheMouse · 09/05/2017 15:23

sticklebrix that makes two of us. If you are pro-EU it has to be the LibDems.

makeourfuture · 09/05/2017 15:25

Eagle? That other guy?

Where were the centrist big guns?

JustAnotherPoster00 · 09/05/2017 15:27

Why did the centrists not field a strong candidate last leadership election? Why?

But they did make both times, especially in the last one, what was his name again, that guy, oh um, what was he offering again? Made such an impact on me lol Grin

ExplodedCloud · 09/05/2017 15:31

Nobody with any substance stood against Corbyn though. All we had were people close to Blair/Brown and Ed Milliband. And that was just a carry on from the previous losing years. People wanted a party to the left of where it was. Not necessarily Corbyn. And then the next time round we got Angela Eagle who may be a good MP but not a leader and Owen Smith who inspired nobody at all.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 09/05/2017 15:36

Id like to see how clive lewis is going to develop in his career, but personally Id be happy if I woke up on June the 9th and Prime Minister Skinner was in charge Grin

ExplodedCloud · 09/05/2017 15:45

PM Skinner!
Yes Clive Lewis seems reasonable.

wasonthelist · 09/05/2017 16:18

sticklebrix that makes two of us. If you are pro-EU it has to be the LibDems.
If that voting pattern happens in my constituency, the Tory will win again by splitting non-Tory votes between Labour and Lib dems. Our electoral system stinks.

wasonthelist · 09/05/2017 16:20

"Prime Minister Skinner was in charge grin"
Me too - that would get a few things properly sorted out.

Anon213 · 09/05/2017 16:36

Just seen JC being interviewed on the BBC and he is refusing to say he will take the UK out of the EU. So all the remainers that were thinking of voting Lib Dem can now vote for JC and he will get back our money from the Tories.

Radishal · 09/05/2017 16:39

Nope. I saw the interview and it just sounded like the usual JC muddle/typical politico unwilling to commit.
I voted Remain. No point hoping we are somehow going to Remain. I still think Brexit was a stupid idea. My reasons for not voting JC have nothing to do with Brexit.
