Come out, come out wherever you are!
I know it will mean you will be attacked and preached at, you will be told you are rich, uncaring and hate everyone except yourself, but will anyone stand with me and admit to planning on voting Conservative on June 8?
I can't be the only one surely? I didn't vote the Conservatives in by myself in 2015!

SO. Jeremy says he will not resign as leader of Labour party even if Labour loses the election.

"Because I was elected leader of the party."

What planet is the man on?!!!!

wasonthelist · 09/05/2017 13:18

What planet is the man on?!!!!
Planet democracy, he's been elected, twice. If another person wants to stand against in a leadership bid him post election they are welcome.

Anon213 · 09/05/2017 13:18

Jeremy says he will not resign as leader of Labour party even if Labour loses the election

He wasn't elected to run the country, he has a massive mandate from his membership to run the Labour party, so why should he resign? He is a great protester and he needs to stay as leader so he can move the whole party as far left as possible.

There is the danger if he resigned after the election that the party might move to the right and become the red Torys again.

Radishal · 09/05/2017 13:23

He was elected to put himself forward to run the country. Horrified if you don't see that, anon.

makeourfuture · 09/05/2017 13:52

And it will be up to the membership to decide.

I think you are angry with the membership, not with Jeremy.

Radishal · 09/05/2017 14:07

No. I'm angry with JC AND the membership.
So if he gets dumped by the only voters who really matter here, the UK electorate, you genuinely think he should stay on as party leader?
You need to have a serious word with yourself about your hero worship and how it has messed with your judgement.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 09/05/2017 14:13

No I am angry with both.

If you lose an election in the manner he is about to do then you step down for starters. Unless you are so vain that you think it is everyone else's fault but yours.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 09/05/2017 14:14

I'll get right on that for you Hmm

Is CCHQ out in force to day or is it Progress?

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 09/05/2017 14:15

Pooh - I did not know that. In that case, it makes even more sense that DLA was taken away from some people!

No it really doesn't. It is to cover the extra costs that disability brings.

makeourfuture · 09/05/2017 14:15

how it has messed with your judgement.

It is the judgement of the party members, through a democratic process, which counts.

Please feel free to join the party, or if you are a member, work to get a new candidate elected.

According to who it is, and their policies, I may vote for them.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 09/05/2017 14:15

Nothing stopping them from triggering another leadership contest after the election

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 09/05/2017 14:16

It is the judgement of the party members, through a democratic process, which counts.

Actually ultimately it is the judgement of the electorate that counts.

Nicemil1 · 09/05/2017 14:17

red tories dear god!!

Yes best spend time quacking in opposition as that would suit him better than being in power snd you know actually changing things

Bangs head again against the wall

Radishal · 09/05/2017 14:20

Red Tories? Jesus Christ Alfuckingmighty. Do you really think like this?

Nicemil1 · 09/05/2017 14:22

Yes Rad that's why they voted for Corbyn. Pathetic isn't it.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 09/05/2017 14:23

Dont bang your head to hard Nicemil, you might injure yourself enough to be on the recieving end of the tories targeted hate of the disabled youd probably change your tune very quickly.

Corbyn is the only leader standing up for those of us with disabilities, before he got in the PLP abstained, FUCKING ABSTAINED!!! on the welfare reform bill

Radishal · 09/05/2017 14:29

I have MS. He doesn't speak for me. Having MS hasn't stopped my revulsion for those that indulge anti semites or who cosy up to terrorists for a pose.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 09/05/2017 14:32

Omg thank you radishal, I've only heard that trope a view million times, but this 1 time it worked, youre I'm so foolish what was I thinking.

Thank you so much, the scales have fallen from my eyes Flowers

FFS Hmm

JustAnotherPoster00 · 09/05/2017 14:34

  • A Few Grin

I hate a rant when I make a mistake some how renders it less effective in my mind Confused

cathf · 09/05/2017 14:37

I think this thread is full of mad people now so I will bow out.
I am not running away, but we will clearly never agree, and as soon as people start saying a political party hate a section of society and are delibrately targeting them, it starts to get a bit juvenile and silly.

Radishal · 09/05/2017 14:39

Just, I saw his poor performance at the launch of the antisemitism report. I saw the photos of him shaking Gerry Adams' hand just after the Brighton Bomb - one of The most violent attacks on U.K. democracy- when he was an inconsequential back bencher. He called Hamas and Hezbollah "friends ".
Sorry if that is inconvenient to you but for someone like me, that's hard to ignore.

kirinm · 09/05/2017 14:42

How do you feel about May cosying up to Saudi Arabia? Presumably your disgust extends to May?

wasonthelist · 09/05/2017 14:43

Yes best spend time quacking in opposition as that would suit him better than being in power snd you know actually changing things

The trouble is that the Millband Labour party was offering a slightly less nasty Tory party last time, hence I voted Green. At least this time Labour offers something different enough to make me vote Labour again. Obviously there's no point in being in opposition but there's no point in being elected if you have to abandon all non-Tory policies to get there.

Radishal · 09/05/2017 14:44

My disgust extends to May cosying up to Saudi Arabia.
One of the many reasons I won't vote Tory.
You don't get out of it that easy.

FelixtheMouse · 09/05/2017 14:50

A mate of mine stood a round of drinks in the pub this lunchtime n the strengt of the announcement that Mr Corbyn won't quit if when Labour loses. He's a Tory.
