Come out, come out wherever you are!
I know it will mean you will be attacked and preached at, you will be told you are rich, uncaring and hate everyone except yourself, but will anyone stand with me and admit to planning on voting Conservative on June 8?
I can't be the only one surely? I didn't vote the Conservatives in by myself in 2015!

Suffragettes also gave us the right to spoil our ballot paper.

derxa · 07/05/2017 08:29

The amount of bland media headline rhetoric regurgitated on this thread is monumentally fucking depressing. Tell us what's happening oh wise one.

Acornantics · 07/05/2017 08:42

Our MP is Labour, very safe seat. He's proactive, works hard, represents his constituents effectively and is a decent, honest person, based on what I know. I wouldn't know the Tory candidate if they knocked on my door, they're invisible.

Do I want Corbyn as PM? No, but I will still vote Labour as on a local level he's the best candidate.

The thing that needs focusing on is what next, what happens after the election, how can we safeguard our school budgets, our health system...both probably need a massive overhaul, are they even fit for purpose now?

Mc180768 · 07/05/2017 09:06

Labour have been damaged by Corbyn. And in such a short time too. That showed tbeir weakness as a party. The people were sweetened by JC as a people person.

Britain is a one party state. Torys will win election. I would put my last tenner on it.

SorryToDisturbYou · 07/05/2017 09:14

To be fair derxa, the Tories are clearly going to win a whacking great majority at this election simply by running on the S&S slogan, while dodging any questions about where this amazing leadership might actually be leading us.

Whatever your political views, surely that's not a healthy democratic situation?

derxa · 07/05/2017 09:22

the Tories are clearly going to win a whacking great majority at this election simply by running on the S&S slogan, while dodging any questions about where this amazing leadership might actually be leading us. Yes that's true but they've hit on a slogan which is winning votes and it's up to the other side to dismantle that. And they're not. TM is not going to say 'Oh it's not fair to the Labour party' is she?

Aeroflotgirl · 07/05/2017 09:25

Sorry I don't their crap, they are weak and don't have a strong leadership.

cathf · 07/05/2017 09:26

Well, I am not surprised to see that all the usual cliches and nastiness have been wheeled out again.
All people who vote Tory are selfish, rich, don't care about anyone but themselves etc etc. And a couple of nice personal attacks to boot.
The pp was right when she said that most Labour voters (on here at least) seem to vote for labour driven by hatred of the Tories rather than anything tangible on offer other than a vague notion that the NHS is 'safer' in labour's hands.

For not surprised read "chuffed to bits"

cathf · 07/05/2017 09:35

But monkey, that was my point on the earlier thread. EVERY single thread always degenerates into nastiness from labour supporters. Thus my point is proven. I didn't start this thread for that purpose but I am not surprised it has gone this way. Left wing supporters can't help themselves.

OP posts:
Aeroflotgirl · 07/05/2017 09:36

cathf no, not all are rich, very sweeping statements, some are actually not well off at all, but are not convinced of the Labour party, they have not filled me with confidence that they can do a good job, I will vote for the best party for the job.

TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin · 07/05/2017 09:36

You are seriously blind to the nastiness and goading from the right?

Hmm yes you probably are.

TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin · 07/05/2017 09:36

Wind up the left wing then call them nasty when they are upset and respond.

Truly nasty.

Aeroflotgirl · 07/05/2017 09:37

Don't you mean right wing, Cathf!

playingwithwords · 07/05/2017 09:53

Most conservative voters won't be rich or middle class, Cath. Far from it. That's quite old fashioned thinking.

A few other threads recently talking about this. 'Turkeys voting for Christmas' sort of thing. You'll have to search them out.

Majorgoodwinschickenbeatstrump · 07/05/2017 10:00

Yes me. Voting conservative for the first time in my life. The local Tory MP has done more to help this community than anyone else I know and is a genuinely lovely person. Can't say the same for the labour candidate unfortunately (I do wish it was the other way around). Also I cannot stand Corbyn. He has done huge damage to Labour.

Lime19 · 07/05/2017 10:00

I'm voting Tory because I'm evil and don't care about people that are on benefits.

I'm also very thick. Not very educated at all really.

I'm very rich and have so much money I don't know what to do with it.

I also read daily mail every day and believe everything it says!

Hmmmmm. Or maybe I'm just a normal person voting Tory because it's my choice (we do still believe in democracy right?!) and it really is the only answer. I voted brexit and it's the only party that can make brexit happen in a way that is good for this country. I think May is the only choice for leader too.

mylittlephoney · 07/05/2017 10:13

Will never again vote labour. But would rather cut my arm off then ever vote conservative. I won't waist my vote by not voting. But I will vote green. I know nothing about their policies and I don't care really. But they are the only choice for me anyway.
If u choose conservative just think of the cuts, the people who commited suicide because their disability benefit had been stopped. The window tax . All the big corporations who pay no tax and get away with it. The rich getting tax cuts and the elderly who fought for our freedom being hung out to die lonely. Afraid. With no help.
Then think of Labour.... the most un socialist, socialist party ever. The wild spending. The scandal and eventually the recession. I don't expect anyone to agree with my views. I don't even know why I replied. But I just wanted my small voice to say how I feel. Even if no one reads it.

Aeroflotgirl · 07/05/2017 10:21

And with Tony Blair on the side wanting to get back into Politics, noway.

bjhgj · 07/05/2017 10:28

Labour have 0% chance, they will likely be disgraced.

I wouldn't trust JC to remember to lock the front door, let alone run the country. If he were a fruit or vegetable he'd be a plum - sweet, mushy, wishy washy. TM would be a swede - tough as nails with the ability to soften up if required.

Aeroflotgirl · 07/05/2017 10:36

I like JC he is a decent person, but for a leader of the country, noway. Diane Abbot is as good as a chocolate teapot, if she does not know basic facts, or simply state that she does not know and just bumbles through, how can she be responsible for immigration, Police, MI5 etc. That is why I am voting Tory, not because I don't care about the NHS or public services, because I do! My daughter has ASD, learning difficulties, and we rely on public services to help her, But because it really is a one party race at this moment in time.

zaws · 07/05/2017 10:39

The pp was right when she said that most Labour voters (on here at least) seem to vote for labour driven by hatred of the Tories rather than anything tangible on offer other than a vague notion that the NHS is 'safer' in labour's hands

You really can't fathom the idea of people having different political ideas to you can you?! This thread is pathetic, "oh poor me I'm a Tory and everyone calls me mean".

MajesticWhine · 07/05/2017 11:19

Mylittlephoney- perhaps you mean the bedroom tax, the window tax was around in Georgian times.

But I will vote green. I know nothing about their policies.
Why not look into what the policies of all the parties are at least?

scaryteacher · 07/05/2017 11:58

Another Tory here.

AppearingNormal · 07/05/2017 12:11

Lifelong labour. Can't stand May, can't stand Corbyn, voted Leave. I'm voting Labour only for my MP I want his voice in Parliament when the Tories have control. He resigned from Corbyns team, is moderate and shares the same views as me. If he was a Corbynite I probably would spoil my ballot. Because I could never vote Tory or LibDem, and don't like the other local candidates. Most labour leavers I know are voting Tory, so Corbyn goes. I can't do it.
