Seriously, is there ^anyone^ on MN who does not want Labour to win on June 8?

Come out, come out wherever you are!
I know it will mean you will be attacked and preached at, you will be told you are rich, uncaring and hate everyone except yourself, but will anyone stand with me and admit to planning on voting Conservative on June 8?
I can't be the only one surely? I didn't vote the Conservatives in by myself in 2015!

No idea yet. Awaiting manifestos and will decide at campaign end on the least worst option.

QuiteUnfitBit · 06/05/2017 23:11

We didn't even get any party literature from either the Labour or Conservative parties for the local elections. They obviously couldn't even get enough committed party workers to deliver to our road. So I don't know how they expect to get anyone to vote for them.

We got three separate leaflets from the LibDems.

I just can't now vote for JC, because if he doesn't have the confidence of his fellow MPs who know him, why should I believe in his competence?

AllThePrettySeahorses · 06/05/2017 23:20

I won't be voting Labour - not with Corbyn. That video of him with his cult in Manchester turned my stomach. The sooner that nasty, destructive failed backbencher is gone the better.

I'd never, ever vote Tory though. Was thinking LibDem or Green. Sadly, I live in one of the safest Labour seats even though the (promoted beyond ability) MP is rubbish. If I lived in the neighbouring Labour MP's constituency, I'd certainly vote for her though.

HelenaDove · 06/05/2017 23:23

The only party literature we got for the local elections was from Labour.

bananafish81 · 07/05/2017 00:17

I'm voting Lib Dem. Usually Labour voter, cannot bring myself to vote for Corbyn. Never in a million years going to vote Tory.

Live in a very safe Labour seat so my vote will make no difference. But important for me personally to know I'm voting with my conscience.

SorryToDisturbYou · 07/05/2017 00:44

Ah, right, frilly it's more that you generally trust them to look out for farming industry interests- i was wondering if it was a specific thing about targetting subsidies, or farm gate prices, or... something.

My brain file for 'agricultural policies I have seen' was pretty empty apart from some badgers.

ChevalierTialys · 07/05/2017 01:03

Can someone remind why it's worth voting please? Since coming of voting age I have done my democratic duty in every single election. Every single time the promises have been made to improve the "issues" and every time those promises have been broken. Not only that but successive governments have managed to really target and destroy the welfare of the truly vulnerable in this country. It seems like every one of them, no matter what party they are in, couldn't give a shit about the people they are supposed to be governing.

Nothing really changes, so why even vote? For the first time in 18 years, I may not bother going to the polling station.

anon1987 · 07/05/2017 01:08

Il be voting conservative, and i voted leave.

HelenaDove · 07/05/2017 01:17

Tialys i will always continue to vote. The suffragettes fought hard to get us that right.

ExplodedCloud · 07/05/2017 01:20

The amount of bland media headline rhetoric regurgitated on this thread is monumentally fucking depressing.

HelenaDove · 07/05/2017 01:32

YY Cloud.

MissEDashwood · 07/05/2017 01:52

As much as we want to see Labour win I'm not hopeful Sad

helpimitchy · 07/05/2017 02:36

I vote Labour in the local elections because they do okay for our area.

I have absolutely no idea who to vote for in the general election because I think they're all a shower of shit.

I probably won't bother registering to vote. I know it's wrong, but I don't feel that I can vote for any of them as I just feel angry that Corbyn, and Labour in general, are so awful.

sxround · 07/05/2017 04:31

Tory for me. I am in Scotland and they are the only ones who can halt the Obsessive Sturgeon from breaking up the UK.

JanetBrown2015 · 07/05/2017 07:34

There are certain lots of Tories around including me. The Conversative are better for the country. The detailed post on agriculture above I support. These will be challenging times for farmers as leave the EU and we need that process managed well. The Conservatives will do that better than labour.

Those considering not voting, please do even if you vote Labour. Women fought very hard to vote. Even if you don't think the party you vote for will get in or not in your area at least show you exist by voting - it will be counted generally in the overall support for a party even if it does not affect the election of a particular candidate.

Both Jeremy Corbyn and May mean well. I don't think calling either of them names like "psychopathic moron" (was that Corbyn or May?) is helpful. Both put a lot of effort into trying to help the country and serve their constituents. We might not agree with one or other of their policies but I don't think either is a bad person.

May the best person win!

JanetBrown2015 · 07/05/2017 07:35

(oops... that "May" was genuinely just meaning may not May)

heyhayheigh · 07/05/2017 07:37

Now I'm wondering if there's a direct correlation between being a defensive Tory and letting your 6 week old baby cry themselves to sleep (and criticising anyone who doesn't do the same).

TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin · 07/05/2017 07:38

Probably

heyhayheigh · 07/05/2017 07:38

Sorry made the mn faux pas of referring to op's posts on other threads.

makeourfuture · 07/05/2017 07:45

People understand that the Tories are wrecking the country. Lies, failure and an ideological hatred of the sick, poor and disabled.

SorryToDisturbYou · 07/05/2017 08:13

ChevalierTialis The country basically is what it is - a product of its history, society, infrastructure, etc. No politician is going to be able to change it massively, they're really just tinkering round the edges.

So I vote for the party that seems to share my vision for how the country would ideally be - at least then the tinkering will move us in the right direction.

I think we do have some very capable people amongst our MPs and civil servants, but they are completely hamstrung in what they can do or say thanks to the ridiculous power of the tabloid press in the UK.

ChevalierTialys · 07/05/2017 08:17

I have no faith in either Corbyn or May. I can't vote LD as I disagree with so many of their policies. There is no one for me to vote for.

Blanket statements about how the suffragettes fought hard for our right to vote aren't actually that helpful here. What's the point in voting when it's a shit show no matter who we choose?

BusyBeez99 · 07/05/2017 08:17

Me. Disaster if he/labour does

Twooter · 07/05/2017 08:21

Why should people vote because of the suffragettes? If people have no interest/knowledge about politics surely it is better to leave the vote to those who do?

Radishal · 07/05/2017 08:22

Don't want him to win either. Misogynistic anti Semite as a pp has said.
Won't vote Tory.
JC and all his little wizards have got us in this mess.
