He raped a 5 year old for fucks sake, I'll never understand the sentencing for sex crimes, that girl's life is ruined, and do they really think he won't reoffend?

Yanbu. I recently watched a programme and one of the episodes was about Nathaniel bar-jonah. He was repeatedly arrested and imprisoned for his absolutely vile crimes but also repeatedly let back out into the world to do it again. So many times this happened and I think that shocks me the most about his case. What that creature went on to do before finally getting life made me cry and I don't cry easy. I now think of him every time ibhear cases similar and just think 'why' , 'why should they ever have freedom, a life again, their victim/s won't

totorosfluffytummy · 28/04/2017 23:34

In my opinion, this would be increased to the maximum 25 years. In line with murder (with intent)
There is always "intent" with merves.

Evilstepmum01 · 28/04/2017 23:35

13 years is better than this .......

www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/moray/1231124/moray-man-raped-girl-4-jailed-eight-years/

8 years, so he'll be out in 4.

Freddystarshamster · 28/04/2017 23:38

toto

Given the maximum sentence for rape is life imprisonment, then it's not solely based on the law

Isadora2007 · 28/04/2017 23:39

It's shocking and awful and wrong.

But I don't like people to say those who have been taped have had their lives ruined or have "no life" etc type sentiments. By all means the victims can tell their story as they wish but for others to say their lives are awful or ruined might not be accurate and could be insulting to them. I hope that makes sense. It's like giving the rapist even more power and defining the victims life from that point on...

toffeeboffin · 28/04/2017 23:40

He should be shot at dawn.

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 28/04/2017 23:42

isadora sorry, I've re read my post and definitely not worded it right. Some of bar-jonahs victims never will have a life as they are sadly no longer here. What I meant was those victims and victims of rapists who also go onto murder Sad

FrenchLavender · 28/04/2017 23:44

I'd shoot him dead. No qualms whatsoever. Piece of warped filth. What is even the point of keeping people like that alive, except to risk that he might one day do it again.

FrenchLavender · 28/04/2017 23:46

But given that that would never be allowed, I think non chemical castration should be mandatory for certain categories of rape and child abuse.

Whowouldfardelsbear · 29/04/2017 00:19

I imagine some day he may be left without protection in prison, and he will get an additional punishment from someone inside.

Isadora2007 · 29/04/2017 00:19

Sorry keepingupwiththejoneses. I misread too... Flowers I get what you mean and obviously in those cases they indeed have no life...

Grumpbum · 29/04/2017 00:23

Wtf happened in his childhood? Or maybe he's just evil? I have no hesitation to say if that was my child I would be baying for blood

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 29/04/2017 00:25

Me too Grump. I make no bones about the fact that if it were my dd or my nephew. I'd tear the cunt slowly and very very painfully limb from limb.

80sMum · 29/04/2017 00:38

"Child rapists should have permanent non chemical castration."

^^This. With bells on. My god! If he had done that to my 5-year-old granddaughter, I would want to slice his bits off myself and make him cook and eat them for his dinner. The utter lowlife. Angry

LauderSyme · 29/04/2017 00:53

I think that our criminal justice system is a sturdy pillar of institutional misogyny in it's elevation of the rights of the entitled cock over all else, it's willingness to condone the entitled cock and it's appalling failure to

  • recognise the harm done to children and women by men who sexually assault them.
  • value the lives and integrity of all sexual abuse victims.
  • manifest our outrage at the unique human horror at the violations committed by imposing meaningful prison sentences that properly reflect the value of people over property and fairly punish the harm done.

Rape culture is real Sad

MrsTerryPratchett · 29/04/2017 01:15

I understand emotionally why people want torture and death for people like this. I REALLY do. But bear in mind that extreme sentences tend to lead to less convictions because juries don't want to see someone lose their life. Anyone. 13 years is a really good sentence for a sexual offence. Depressing but true.

AvaCrowder2 · 29/04/2017 01:35

This man is something else though, to subject a woman to a two hour long rape, three times they say, police say he is a monster. And then he got married the same day. He is pushing it a bit.

Cut his goolies/bits off, without painkillers and then plaster his mugshot shot everywhere. Angry

Here here, Steam.

I don't want him dead, I don't believe in capital punishment. However Lauder is right in that misogyny must be so steeped in our criminal justice system for 13 years to be a "good" sentence for raping a 5 year old. It makes no sense.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 29/04/2017 06:40

He won't fare very well inside, if that's any consolation. A lot of child rapists are killed or injured by other prisoners and I find it hard to feel even a tiny bit sorry when that's the case.

monkeyfacegrace · 29/04/2017 06:48

I don't understand why people don't want him dead.

I do. And I hope it's painful.

There is no doubt to his crime. He could have avoided punishment by, ya know, not doing the crime.

I'm not at risk of going to prison for sexual crimes as I won't commit them. It's a simple equation.

Save tax payers money and gain a space in prison and just eradicate him from the planet.

SallyGinnamon · 29/04/2017 07:00

I suspect our sentencing guidelines nee an overhaul if a 13 year sentence is ever considered long enough for rape of a 5 year old.

There can be no 'make up made her look 16' here. This is a premeditated crime. And if that is how he's wired then that sexual preference won't go away. He will be a danger for the rest of his life.

user1492526833 · 29/04/2017 07:10

Should burn him at the stake
