Aibu about this trend for young girls

I keep seeing teen girls about in my town wearing super short tight dresses (usually black), sometimes skirt and crop top with lots of flesh on show. The dresses are made out of material similar to leggings. The bit that gets me though is they wear it with trainers! Sports trainers!

It looks horrible in my opinion. Is this a trend? Where did it come from?

Maybe I'm getting old... I'm pretty sure my mum didn't get the trouser skirt combo I used to wear. Grin

It's just I don't get the "nice" dress paired with trainers. To me it's like wearing heels with jogging pants... not a good look.

Meant DD but if my DS wants to wear dresses and trainers then go for it I say!

It's the trainer/"nice dress" combo. It just doesn't look right to me.

This is the Danish 'uniform'. Scandi-chic. You're so uncool, OP.

(I wear Nikes or New Balance every single day and used to get the sweats on my way to the UK for a visit, knowing how chavvy most people would think me)

Back in the early 90's I used to wear skin tight dresses, or catsuits, or mini skirts and crop tops with trainers.
Why?
Heels fucking kill. Why would anyone want to torture their feet? I see lots of woman trying to walk in them and think what's the point, whack on a pair of trainers and be done with it. So what's the alternative?
Dm's, boots, trainers or the crappy ballerina shoes?
