Corbyn is lovely, why the negativity?

Really, why?
Just because he's a bit different in his presentation. He in principled and compassionate, I for one wish he would become the PM.

Corbyn is good when addressing a sympathetic crowd, but that's part of the problem, isn't it? As PP have said it's a different matter when he's put under pressure or gets questions /comments he doesn't like. Not a good quality for someone in a leadership position, is it?

And of course he's not going to win an election by preaching to the converted.

Rikalaily · 20/04/2017 11:44

I'm finding it quite disturbing that so many Labour voters are saying they won't be voting Labour because of JC. It makes no sense what so ever to risk the Tories being left in power to dismantle the NHS and whatever else they see fit to just because people don't like the current leader, which something that can change. Seriously? You would rather kiss goodbye to the NHS than see Corbyn as PM? This country is as crazy as the US voting Trump in.

Guinnessoriginalthe1st · 20/04/2017 11:45

I loved Tony Blair but hated his approach to Iraq. Sad

Bringmesunshite · 20/04/2017 11:47

Corbyn uses the "I'm not an anti-Semite, I'm an anti-Zionist" double speak. Asshole. The should there be an Israeli state question is from the first decades of the 20th Century.
Many people disagree with the policies of the Israeli government on all sorts of issues- including many many Israelis. If you are an Anti-Zionist it means you believe the state of Israel shouldn't exist. Which means .....

NoLotteryWinYet · 20/04/2017 11:48

as I'm saying on the other thread - this is EXACTLY labour's problem - blairite soft left traitorous twats like me know that whilst the tories are underfunding the NHS, that's been the situation for years, it's not going to shut up shop in the next 5 years and there is no other way to get JC out than forcing the labour party members to vote him out when he gets an electoral drubbing.

This is squarely the fault of JC for not stepping down when all the moderates in the shadow cabinet resigned. It's his fault I feel voting conservative is the ONLY way to get him out of the labour leadership.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 20/04/2017 11:53

Corbyn will never be PM he would need to win over floating voters or more centre voters and he hasn't done that and will make no attempt to

Should many voters who usually vote Labour vote LD isn't going to stop JC becoming PM as it's already very clear that the public have rejected him and will do even more in the coming weeks as his principaled persona is torn to shreds on the media and he will show himself up to be incompetent when under questioning by experienced political journalists

But it will allow for the Tories not to have such a huge majority and maybe the next Labour leader will work more with the LD's as Corbyn certainly won't. If we had a leader that would there could possibly be a coalition but not under Corbyn

We are not a left leaning country never have been Labour only won three consecutive elections becuase they move more to the centre ground

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/04/2017 11:54

Rikalaily, interesting point. Unfortunately unless the polls are right out the Tories are pretty much guaranteed to get re-elected. Very little chance that Labour will have a big resurgence in Scotland and without that there is pretty much no chance that they can get an outright majority across the UK. This might have been different with a different Labour leader, but no point crying over spilt milk now.

If only there had been a bit more time, and more common sense, perhaps all the pro-Remainers could have got together and agreed some sort of anti-Brexit coalition policy. But that's a non-starter.

Bringmesunshite · 20/04/2017 11:55

There is one single reason the Tories will win this election: Corbyn. He's too arrogant to see it. The Tories are there for the taking but because he is so wholly unsuitable to be Prime Minister, the Tories will win. Every thing the Tories do that Labour don't like will be ON HIM.

LumelaMme · 20/04/2017 11:58

Let's face it, you know Labour is in the shit when MN, which is generally to the Left of centre, is strewn with people saying stuff along the lines of 'I just can't vote labour with Corbyn at the top' and 'Labour is unelectable'.

If the OP and posters like Scary can't see that, or decide it's all the fault of the wicked MSM, there's no point arguing with them.

SuckItUpSnowflake · 20/04/2017 12:02

I'm finding it quite disturbing that so many Labour voters are saying they won't be voting Labour because of JC.

Me too.

Though obviously some of them are plants as it's a well known political (or troll) tactic online to say I'm an X but intend to do the exact opposite.

As for the rest. It's pitiful. Own your choices. If you agree with the Tory position/manifesto etc vote for them. But contributing to a government returning with a greater majority for a protest vote is childish.

SuckItUpSnowflake · 20/04/2017 12:03

Let's face it, you know Labour is in the shit when MN, which is generally to the Left of centre

Mumsnet hasn't been left of centre since the Blair years.

malificent7 · 20/04/2017 12:04

I dont tjink its hard to lead Britain if you dont like it. I think its a chance to mould it into a better nation. Wuit how is beyond me tbh.

NoLotteryWinYet · 20/04/2017 12:08

yes fair point. I think that is what I'm saying, all in all, i'll turn from voting labour as i've done for 20 years into a tory voter because of Corbyn and the tory manifesto being preferable to the labour one at this point.

I'll own my choice - not a choice I'd have made if Labour had a more moderate leader, obviously.

flippinada · 20/04/2017 12:25

I won't be voting Conservative. I'll be voting for my Labour candidate as I'm impressed with what I've seen of them (out campaigning, engaged with local issues). They're also the only one with any chance of ousting the SNP MP. The SNP isn't all bad either but I don't like their independence at any cost approach. Won't be supporting the Greens for the same reason.

flippinada · 20/04/2017 12:25

*The SNP MP isn't all bad.

Batgirlspants · 20/04/2017 12:29

make I detest Abbott for her hypocrscy in sending her child to a private school and telling us the reason was because he was black and so disadvantaged in the state system. I couldn't give a shit what colour or race she is I hate hypocrites.

However her eye rolling and closing annoys me too. I can say that right without being racist/sexist?? Hmm

QueenOlivine · 20/04/2017 12:30

I'll also vote labour despite Corbyn - I already have a labour MP who is very good. I don't think a good labour MP should be ousted because of Corbyn, because I think Corbyn will be going.

Batgirlspants · 20/04/2017 12:33

Suck how long have you been a labour member? I have since 1982 and cannot vote for labour under Corbyn. No not an internet plant or blinded by a right wing press Hmm

I put my country before party and Corbyn would be a disaster for this country. Utterly disasterous

brasty · 20/04/2017 12:33

I will vote Labour. Can't stand Corbyn though, and I told the bloke that who came canvassing for the Labour party.

Batgirlspants · 20/04/2017 12:34

queen he won't go unless it's a disasterous result. And if he doesn't go labour are finished for a while like 1982.

NoLotteryWinYet · 20/04/2017 12:38

i'm also not a troll(you can ask mumsnet I've been on it for at least 4 years), voted labour since I could vote (in 1997), joined the party in August 2016 to have a chance to vote against JC in the next leadership election. I agree nothing short of a disaster will get the members to vote him out. If the blairites/moderates split off I'll join that group.

Headofthehive55 · 20/04/2017 12:51

I agree lottery you would think the Labour Party might listen to people like us, life long about voters but not voting labour because of JC. I just don't think it's the same party.

Batgirlspants · 20/04/2017 12:51

suck are you accusing me of being a troll and not I would ask you to withdraw that disgraceful comment or I will report it.

I have voted labour all my adult life. I won't vote for Corbyn. I have been a mumsnetter for over 10 years.

GretchenFranklin · 20/04/2017 12:59

Corbyn is saying he won't go whatever Shock

I will vote labour but beginning to feel a slight panic about jc

Flippinada the Independent mentioned the Tony / lib den thing.

I miss Tony. If only he'd stayed away from Sadam ffs.

flippinada · 20/04/2017 13:02

Labeling comments from posters who don't like JC as bring made by plants/trolls is so ridiculous as to be laughable. For one thing, he's doing so badly that is not necessary! Nonsense like this from his supporters is one of the (many) reasons he isn't taken seriously.
