Corbyn is lovely, why the negativity?

Really, why?
Just because he's a bit different in his presentation. He in principled and compassionate, I for one wish he would become the PM.

Limon No, I haven't fallen for it. I have my own mind. I have watched him at almost every PMQs since he became leader of the Labour Party. He is ineffectual. As a result, the Labour Party is not providing the sort of opposition we DESPERATELY need in this country. You cannot lead from the rear and it doesn't matter that the grass roots members love him if the majority of his staff think he's rubbish and can't work with him. It's quite ludicrous, quite frankly. to have someone in charge of a political party who, as a back bencher, consistently voted against his own party! How can you expect your MPs to back you and your policies if you've spent most of your career doing the opposite.

This doesn't mean he may not be a very good politician for his constituents, nor does it mean he may not be principled. He may, in fact, have some very good ideas alongside some rather poor ones. But if you can't be an effective leader, you'll never get in charge to actually see any of them through.

I fear a landslide for the Tories in this election and I'm afraid a lot of it will be down to the Labour Party being completely ineffectual and the buck stops with Corbyn. If Labour are severely trounced, we're going to end up having a Tory government for at least another decade.

shellhider · 18/04/2017 12:53

Because he comes across as being a liar who is unelectable?

I say that as a Labour voter not supporter who has no idea yet who to vote for.

Underparmummy · 18/04/2017 12:54

He's no leader. He's like a teenager still - he only ever wants to rebel against things not actually do anything positive.

Underparmummy · 18/04/2017 12:55

Also - he could have had a real impact in the EU referendum and he couldnt be fucked to even try.

BadTasteFlump · 18/04/2017 12:55

I always thought of Corbyn as a bit of a bumbling fool. Then I heard his comments about Martin Mcguinness and now think of him as a terrorist supporter.

There is nothing lovely about him. Is this thread a joke op?

InfiniteSheldon · 18/04/2017 12:55

Terrorist supporter not sympathiser is a way more accurate description of him well done whoever said that he's a vile arrogant inept anti Semitic runt of a man. And he comes across misogynistic to me I will never vote for a Labour party run by him.

PlymouthMaid1 · 18/04/2017 12:55

Sonyaya has it right.

alteredimages · 18/04/2017 12:55

He's annihilated himself by being completely ineffective as party leader and as leader of the opposition.

"Lovely" is not the top of my list of characteristics to look for in a leader. I also don't believe that he actually is. He is a weak leader and gets others to do his dirty work for him.

SquatBetty · 18/04/2017 12:56

I'm sure he's a lovely, principled bloke but this country is far too far over to the right to accept him as PM. He is completely unelectable.

Ta1kinPeace · 18/04/2017 12:56

Corbyn has always been anti EU

Corbyn has never had to stand by his decisions
his maths does not add up
he is anti business

Havingahorridtime · 18/04/2017 12:57

Corbyn promoted the prize idiot Diane Abbott to a senior shadow cabinet position and didn't sack Ken living stone when he clearly should have. His party is in disarray because too many labour MPs have no faith in him. You can't lead a party effectively when you have no decent politicians willing to be part of your cabinet.

BadTasteFlump · 18/04/2017 12:57

Oh and just to add - do you think the families who lost loved ones at the hands of the IRA would call him 'principled and compassionate'?

muckypup73 · 18/04/2017 12:57

I will never ever vote Labout while he is their leader.

Renaissance2017 · 18/04/2017 12:57

Hmmmm. He's pro Brexit. So on that basis, under Corbyn,, we would still be leaving the EU. I don't particularly have a problem with that however Corbyn never communicates clearly. He never has a clear message. On that basis, why would you want him negotiating on our behalf?

muckypup73 · 18/04/2017 12:57

Labour

TriJo · 18/04/2017 12:57

He's a good MP for the smallest constituency in the country by area.

He's not a good leader of a national party.

NameChanger22 · 18/04/2017 12:58

I think he seems like a nice man, but he's not a leader, he wants brexit and he doesn't understand the Middle East.

I think the left need to get behind the Lib Dems now. It's not about personalities, it's about what politicians are saying.

CoolCarrie · 18/04/2017 12:58

Because he looks, and acts like a pot smoking, 1970s teacher, who calls his pupils 'People' thinks Che, Lenin and Lennon were god like and think The Catcher In The Rye was a wonderful book, in fact he reminds me of my old English teacher. The one whose class I walked out of because he was a crap teacher.

TinfoilHattie · 18/04/2017 12:58

Lovely my backside.

He is a throwback to my student days where very earnest people stood outside the Union with their Socialist Worker newspapers. They spoke a lot, used big words, tried to make out they were going to change the world, but never actually DID anything.

He is not credible in any sense whatsoever. He has no hope in hell of winning an election. I have voted labour in the past during the Blair years but would not ever vote for Corbyn unless there was a neck and neck race between SNP and Labour in my constituency which is very unlikely.

IisaIambe · 18/04/2017 13:00

You've answered your own question in the title of the thread. Lovely he may be, but he is unelectable. That's why labour is falling apart under him.

Anyone voting for Labour now is wasting their vote and handing the Tories everything on a plate.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/04/2017 13:01

He stuffed up Brexit, provided no clear leadership against it at a time when it was most needed.

Voting for the Tories is like Turkeys voting for Christmas. Homelessness has risen 40% since 2010. People vote personalities rather than policies thanks to the media.
