To ask when your child stopped napping?

DS is 26 months and fir the last two days and today has refused his lunchtime nap. He normally has a nap from.about 1pm to 2.30pm but we've had him saying No and get out when he's gone into his cot. Is this the end of the naps or just a phase? X

DD1 was 18 months and DD2 was more like 24 months. Not long before her 2nd birthday anyway.

They both stopped napping but every now and then, if they'd had a bad night's sleep or weren't well, then they would fall asleep in the buggy whilst out shopping.

DS is 3yrs & 2mths - he still naps for an hour at lunchtime on most days. He sleeps 10 - 11 hours at night too. I've got friends with kids closer to 4yrs and they still have a midday nap, whereas a friend's 2yo stopped napping at 18mths.

I managed to drag it out to a few months past aged 3 with both. They only map in the car now.

Both my twins dropped daytime naps before the age of two.

18 months :( he has slept 12 hours a. Ugh since then.

Just before 3 for me, unless we go for a drive. Think having the option in the 3+ room st nursery contributed.

18 months here as well. My best friends kid is 4 and he still has a 2 hour nap and sleeps 12 hours plus a night. It's starting to stop them doing things now like parties as he gets really cranky.'

Bloody hell! My dd still sometimes has two at 17 months!

3 yr 3 m has 60 mins still.

4yr11m is in school now but has 1-2 hour nap on weekends and school holidays.

20 months and 22 months, although 2.5 yr old will sometimes doze off on the sofa at 3ish after a busy day. Neither ever slept for more than about 30-45 mins anyway. Both sleep 12hrs at night though (2.5 and 4.5)

My 3.4 DD still has nearly 2 hours nap a day unless at preschool Smile

Ds 2.7 sleeps 12 hrs at night and prob naps 2/3 days a week. . For a couple of hours. Still asks to go to bed at 7!!

2 years and 3 months before we never saw it again with dd. I didn't really mind as she was such a major grouch after her nap. Ds is 21 months and still napping but I think it'll be over by 2ish. Both good night sleepers

DS is 3 in August, he will still reliably sleep for 3 hours after lunch and from 7-7 overnight.

He goes to nursery 2 full days a week and he doesn't sleep there so catches up on the days he's at home.
I love my little afternoon breaks, I get so much done!

DS dropped his cot naps at home at 2.7/8 months. I tried not to sob at the time. #sonotready

Currently 3.0. He still sleeps for 40-60 mins at nursery most days, and will fall asleep on the lounge at home if we've had an active or early morning. Lots of car and pram naps as well.

If he doesn't sleep it's a chore to keep him awake past 4:30pm unless we are out an about and walking.

Sleeps overnight from 7pm-5:30/6am, goes down very easily.

18 months here. She started sleeping through though so it wasn't all bad. Makes life a lot easier now tbh

DS slowly dropped his naps just after 2, this was mainly due to being moved up to the 'big' room in nursery that did not have the same quiet area for sleeps - he carried on at weekends briefly but quickly dropped them as well - it was a sad day for me, I liked my naps at the same time Grin

tireddotcom72 im with you, ds was 13 months old, point blank refused to nap so I gave up trying! I too was envious of people whos children slept in the day!

DD1 would only nap at home so I was relieved when she stopped at 2.6 as we could go out more. DD2 stopped dead on 2 years old but would often sleep in the car. Both stayed in bed longer in the mornings after they dropt their naps which was good. I got very little done during the day while they were toddlers.

They weren't grumpy and tired before 7.00ish after dropping naps so they really didn't need them. I was on my knees as they were both busy toddlers.

Ds1 started resisting his daytime sleep from around 18 months but he had what Dh and I lovingly called 'enforced naptime' until he turned 2. He's never been the type to need much sleep though. Ds2 is almost 13 months and still going strong on 2 naps a day so I hope he keep the nap for a bit longer!

I have a friend with a 3 year old who naps for an hour a day plus sleeps 7-7 at night Envy. Another friend has a 3.5 year old who still naps but they let him stay up until 9/10pm, which I couldn't cope with!

DS stopped when he was about 2, but now he's 5 and a bit he has been known to take himself off for a snooze on a weekend if he's particularly tired/grumpy.
Nothing structured though.
