To report hubby for drink driving

Lately hubby has been going out for drinks after work every day and driving home whilst drunk. I've been at my wits end trying to tell him not to drink drive, but he just won't listen at all... I can't just sit here and wait until he kills himself or someone else :( I've been thinking of calling the police and telling them to wait for him when he comes home... Is it unreasonable to want to report him?

I would report, but I wouldn't have them waiting at home for when he returns because then he's going to blame it all on you and get bitter.
I'd tell the police where he works, drinks, his route, and car and when he tests "I'm on my way home" I'd give them a quick ring and explain you don't want him knowing it was you but you know he's driving home drunk.
They can stop him and give him a wake up call and he can't turn nasty at you

I normally wouldn't grass up a family member, but in circumstances where he is putting his own and others' lives at risk and refuses to change, I think I would.

OP my friend was married to a very clever highly functioning alcoholic. You would never have guessed the depth of his problem. She got a huge amount of support from Al-Anon, both from counselling and group sessions. Everyone there understands the implications of life with a drink problem. They may be able to help you Flowers.
