Favourite Sandwich/Baguette fillings?

This is a random one but wondered what your favourite filling is? Hoping to see something pregnancy craving odd Grin

I got the bits to make a sandwich, but left half to share so others could taste the best sandwich in the world. Well to me anyway, will have to wait for further votes.

It started off with M&S in house granary bread, smallish loaf, apply mayo instead of butter, half an onion (that's always precut in a tub) apple smoked Wiltshire ham, bit more mayo, then peppery salad leaves.

You could add mustard if you're a fan, the mayo did it for me. Was going to leave 3/4 of it so everyone had their fair share. DD will pick out the onion, or DH will for her.

To buy it I think you'd be looking at £2/3 in an artisan food shop.

Loaf £0.99
Red Onions £0.80 a big bag
Peppery Leaves £1.50
Ham £2.00
Mayo £0.79

All from M&S, will do about 6 lunches if not more. Plus I got a cucumber for £0.50. There's loads of leaves left, we get our red onions from day Sainsbury's they're always on their way to onion heaven, but these were perfect & a big bag. £6 including cucumber, so £1 a lunch with left overs.

I know for most men bacon is a must. Something in male DNA unless practising Jewish or Muslim or Veggie.

Bliss.

Extra mature cheddar, chilli jam, rocket, cucumber.

Extra mature cheddar, onion relish , pickled onion Monster Munch, ripe toms.

Houmous, jalapeños, salad.

Cheese scone, with marmite and more cheese in the middle.

Two slices of toast with filling of garlic or sweet chilli philidelpia and sliced ripe tomatoes. Good before bed if you've had too much wine.

Toasted. Grated cheddar, mustard, then creme fraiche or garlic philidelphia. It all melts together like cheese sauce.

Sunday breakfast has to be fried egg or qourn sausages.

Chicken and crispy bacon with loads of mayo, no butter. Yum all day long.

I came on here to recommend my fave and really couldn't believe that someone else had put the same filling - it's quite obscure! Then I realised it was me under a different name two years ago... Grin It's still my go to sarnie!!

Leftover roast chicken, cold, home made bacon, sage and onion stuffing and cold bread sauce, on crusty tiger bread with salted butter.

PutyourtoponTrevor · 07/06/2019 16:29

2 slices of soft granary bread spread with cranberry sauce, then a thin layer of stuffing, roast turkey, very crispy unsmoked bacon, lettuce, onion, sliced egg.

THE best sandwich ever

Or BBQ beef super noodles on Warby's toastie with a shit tonne of butter

Or hot roast chicken with warm roasted peppers on buttered warm tiger bread

Beef, lettuce and tomato with horseradish sauce on thick white doorstep bread (with proper butter) If your nostrils aren't burning the sauce isn't hot enough!

contentedsoul · 07/06/2019 17:49

All the fillings sound delicious, but I still enjoy a simple potted meat sandwich with crisps shoved in....I might have just that for tea!

Smos - which is Belgian for a half baguette or thereabouts spread with mayo on one side, then lettuce, tomato, egg, cucumber, chopped onion (if you ask for it), ham and cheese.

About €2.50 depending which broodje shop you go to, and freshly made each time.
