I'm not sure I know what cheesecloth is

oh something else that throws me

corduroy - is that actually fashionable now?! I'm not going to wear anything I don't like, I'm just curious.

Kennington · 02/04/2017 13:04

I am wearing my black cropped skinnies and plain t shirts and jumpers with black ankle boots and still waiting for this to come into fashion!
I was in west London last night and some of these alarming trends have taken hold although the Mayfair Russian look is also quite popular too.

WicksEnd · 02/04/2017 13:26

Did anyone get the Ugg mail shot re these beauties? A snip at £325 Shock

OMD!!! those shoes!

boolifooli · 02/04/2017 13:41

Jesus Christ. Those shoes. Some idiot will buy them because 'they must be fashionable'.

boolifooli · 02/04/2017 13:42

Mind you I think that about Birkenstocks. I swear to god people only wear them because of the name. Why else would you make your feet look that hideous?

BillSykesDog · 02/04/2017 13:43

Cheesecloth was great (or should that be grate?). Very breathable. Very breathable.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 02/04/2017 15:24

Lois that looks like something out of my daughter's dressing up box!

Floisme · 02/04/2017 15:28

I know fashion is ridiculous. That's why I like it. I'm pretty careful about what I wear myself but I can still enjoy it on other people. The world can be a grim place sometimes and a bit of silliness cheers me up.

Most catwalk fashion looks bonkers then gets toned down. Even when it doesn't, I'd rather look at someone wearing fluffy sandals than a sea of jeans and stripy tops.

Goldfishjane · 02/04/2017 15:56

actually I only just saw the thing AutumnEve posted

as someone who only goes out wearing a duvet like coat in winter, I would consider that for winter walks but it would be unfair on public transport Grin

Trills · 02/04/2017 16:02

I remember thinking that skinny jeans were awful in the early-to-mid 2000s.

I still don't think they particularly suit me but they are completely unobjectionable and unnoticeable now, and have been for about a decade.

AutumnEve · 02/04/2017 16:35

Goldfish, quite. Though for winter walks one would have to find a similar garment for the lower half (anyone?).
I think it would go nicely with those Uggs that WicksEnd postedGrin

What an outfit.

TomaytoTomahto · 02/04/2017 16:53

AutumnEve There you go!

Hahaha 😂
(Kind of looks Easter themed)

I love it how they've paired it with some sexy black heels.

Goldfishjane · 02/04/2017 18:30

(PS am vegetarian, not planning to wear fur before anyone has...er, kittens)

ForalltheSaints · 02/04/2017 18:32

Several fashion victims in the pub this afternoon- men with trousers three inches too short look particularly idiotic.

SomewhatIdiosyncratic · 02/04/2017 19:24

Birkenstocks have the significant redeeming feature of being exceptionally comfortable with a moulded arch that is a rarity in a sandal. Plus they come in a multitude of colours meaning you can normally find something passable.

This form of cropped trousers look is the unfortunate outcome that I've always ended up with when attempting to try on cropped trousers. It's the "tail end of a growth spurt" look. I wonder if I bought some, that it might get me out of taking them up? I won't hold my breath though!

The demise of low waists is a good thing. The world never wanted to be treated to my CS overhang or my bum crack. Finding something half decent has been challenging for years!

BagittoGo · 02/04/2017 20:04

Can I add Uggs to that list? They saw us coming didn't they..

FloofyDoof · 02/04/2017 21:29

Thank God, I thought it was just me being a boring old cow for a bit there!

I do not want cold shoulders (imagine the ridiculous sunburn, please), I do not want ruffles - I have no desire to look like a bloody clown, ditto pom poms, fake fur does not belong on any kind of sandal, sod off with all the bloody embroidery too, I am not 6 or 65, I don't want mum jeans - I have a fat arse and a bit of a gut, I do not need these to be accentuated, just give me some slim/straight leg jeans, not acid wash, super faded light denim or bloody white either, looked shit in the 90s, looks shit now, and fuck off with the jeans that look like the dog has chewed the bottom 6 inches off them as well. Shopping for clothes is even more annoying than it usually is at the moment.

I want normal clothes please. Preferably in either black, white/cream (only for tops) and grey, because I am clueless, lazy and it's just easy if all my clothes go with all my other clothes. Thanks.

Dixiestamp · 03/04/2017 04:13

Those first pictures look like stuff that used to be in Grattan catalogue when I was about 5- ie 1980!

Christinedaae17 · 03/04/2017 07:37

I love high waisted jeans as they pull in my tummy after having my DC but I don't wear them with crop tops just normal tops. I also like cold shoulder and Bardot tops but that's my personal taste.

I only every but the high waisted jeans in topshop I'm always scratching my head at some of the styles in that shop and some of them in new look, I'm in my 20s but feel new look are aiming for teens now. I stick to oasis mainly

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 03/04/2017 12:33

I don't own Uggs. As comfy as they look, I just don't like them. can't afford them
