If she's in the air, she should be fine, Natsku.

Lweji · 07/04/2017 15:04

I've just seen the Stockholm news. Sad

cozietoesie · 07/04/2017 15:15

Hmm.

You can expect to see more

A sample from the "Trump supporters" - who don't seem to be Trump supporters so much as Bannon supporters.

It's just an airfield, I'm a lot more concerned about the fate of Bannon, without Bannon I'm out.

Oh god, yeah same. Without Bannon in there we are fucked.

Off the most current topics, but following the JOBS, JOBS, JOBS tweet:

US gained only 98,000 jobs in March, putting a chill on Trump's promises

"Government hiring freeze and faltering retail sector led to a disappointing month following February report, which Trump seized upon as proof he’s boosted hiring."

"Economists had been expecting the economy to add 180,000 jobs in March"

Of course, neither Trump nor Fox are going to shout about these figures from the rooftops, and have possibly highlighted again the February figures only a couple of days ago to drown the March results.

cozietoesie · 07/04/2017 15:38

Fascinating Twitter account, Pausing.

Lweji · 07/04/2017 15:40

Ah, ah, busty blonde Breitbart supporter Cassandra Fairbanks. Sure.

PausingFlatly · 07/04/2017 15:40

Isn't it, cozie?

Try googling her - even more interesting! Both what she says, and what other people say about her. Whole strange realms of the internet where I don't usually venture...

PausingFlatly · 07/04/2017 15:42

You know her of old, Lweji?

And I've just seen a pic - she does indeed sport the mandatory long blonde hair.

Lweji · 07/04/2017 15:43

It's from a TV show (Homeland), but very relevant:

Watch "IraqBob" and "NavyWife". He never mentioned "claig", though.

Lweji · 07/04/2017 15:44

Oh, it's at about 1:00.

Natsku · 07/04/2017 15:45

If she's in the air, she should be fine

He posted that he was at the airport 8 hours ago so probably wouldn't have been in the air. Have another friend living in Stockholm but thankfully she did that 'safe' tag thingy on facebook.

cozietoesie · 07/04/2017 15:56

Fingers crossed then.

BiglyBadgers · 07/04/2017 15:56

I hope you hear from your friend soon natsku Sad

cozietoesie · 07/04/2017 16:08

For information.

alt right and Trump

PausingFlatly · 07/04/2017 16:10

Thinking about you and your friend, Natsku.

CaveMum · 07/04/2017 16:23

Interesting report from The Hill. Could both Priebus and Bannon be on the way out?

That Homeland clip about the office full of sockpuppets with talking points...

I've no idea how true that is for the US (it might well be), but it's definitely true for Russia. They have whole office blocks of sockpuppets, with folders of talking points, working in English.

Salutin' Putin: inside a Russian troll house
www.theguardian.com/world/2015/apr/02/putin-kremlin-inside-russian-troll-house

Which, interestingly, matches the behaviour of some of the Trumpettes we saw on here, and the obvious only-here-for-Brexit campaigners.

It was particularly obvious when something new came up, eg when Sarah Wollaston MP said she could no longer support the Brexit campaign because of their misleading NHS claims.

They went terribly quiet. Didn't express an opinion. We joked at the time they were waiting for new orders...

China too have office blocks of hackers, though I'm not sure whether they do social media propaganda as well as their well-known mass hacking efforts (for industrial info as well as for more obvious disruption).

cozietoesie · 07/04/2017 16:30

I'd heard about that axios report. I think it's too much, myself.

Natsku · 07/04/2017 16:31

Friend is ok.

Don't think Bannon will be happy at being ousted.

cozietoesie · 07/04/2017 16:31

Glad he's fine. Smile

BiglyBadgers · 07/04/2017 16:37

I seem to remember reading something on Chinese disinformation. They too have a massive industry off creating it and a surprisingly large amount of stories on their social media are disinformation. I seem to remember it is more distraction than trolling though. Sudden storms of posts on some random positive news story that drowns out any negative news that comes up.

Lweji · 07/04/2017 16:46

but it's definitely true for Russia.

And probably for the alt-right.

PausingFlatly · 07/04/2017 16:48

It's a bit freaky to get one's head round, but MN is genuinely a frontline in international politics at the moment.Shock

Just one among very many of course, but still Shock
